  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I consider myself a Christian, yes.

So there has been a time that you confessed and repented of your sin and placed your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?

I ask this because of your icon.

Are you a Fundamentalist Christian?

I'm a Christian who holds firmly to the word of God. :)

WHY, are you here?

Why ARE you here?

Why are YOU here?

Why are you HERE?

Why are you here?

You forgot one...

Why are you here?

Punctuation is pretty important. Did you know that the semicolon and italic font were both invented by the same man?

I probably wouldn't say it exactly like that (I would rather say that I bared my soul before God and Jesus, the Christ, and was granted Their forgiveness for all of my wrong doings) but I would say that I have done so, yes.

I'm a Christian who holds firmly to the word of God. :)
I'll take that as a "yes". So, what do you believe it means for someone to be "Christ-like"?

Christ sums it up with the two greatest commandments which encompass obedience to all of His commands.

I started off in the Evolution debate forum, but it got to the stage that there were so few creationists that I was bored. So I decided to wander down the hall and see what else was going on. It’s interesting and lively in here, so I stuck around J

I come here to chew bubblegum and... oh, wait... that was a movie.

Anyway, I'm here because I am seeking new ideas and new thoughts in an attempt to find the truth. I do consider myself to be liberal politically and despite what was said earlier, I do not subscribe to some "pie in the sky" ideal. I think if you look though human history, you'll find that people have always been about the same.

Zaac, I will ask you the same question I ask of all those who subscribe to scripture alone. How do you know that your interpretation of the text is correct? You are reading a translated copy of the Hebrew or Greek text, and as we know, no translation can be 100% accurate. The Bible itself does not have the method for interpretation or even which books belong, so how can you trust the method you use or that books were not left out that belong or added that do not? I look forward to your answers.

I've had some questions to ask of people, here and there. Although, being here ended up pushing me toward a more humanistic way of thinking. That being quite new to me, actually. Plus, I do like reading some people's post. Some are very insightful, and some are quite funny (yourself included). Btw, I mean that in a good way, not as a slight in any way.

Do you think it is unethical?

Evolution is creation "ism."

It's just the scientific search for it.

There is a Buddhist saying, "If someone says they are searching for Truth, listen to him. If he says that he has found it, run far away."

I'm amazed how many different people have claimed that they alone know the mind of God, the Truth, while they disagree with one another, and are unwilling to even listen to challenges of this "truth," demanding instead that everyone simply agree, as if to bow down to them and worship them. Their words are God's words, their belief is God's belief, and yet, it often is not the way Jesus spoke, behaved, or acted towards others.

You were one of the people that were on my mind when I thought of this thread.

B-B, why ARE you here?

Hey PCF. Can I ask you why you are here?
No ulterior motives, but we've all fessed up, it would be interesting to hear your reasons.

To show that some people are just wrong about Christian reality and some people are very malicious, malevolent and hurtful.

I have developed a persona to expose that.

C'mon now, there are many people that fit my description.

And notice how many people think I do? OK, but they'll have to pony up why.

Then it's time for debate, and I have consistently not cared at all if a person openly declares their paganism or anti-Christian stancde, but when they drift into Christian positions as if they are Christian, then it is time for debate and/or conflict.

I don't really want that in this thread, but it seems so connected to so many non's and anti's.

I don't disagree that if God created, evolution is how he did it. But not everyone sees that, though not many these days, hence the debate drying up :)
I'm a Theistic evolutionist.
I believe that God created life through the process of evolution and it is still ongoing.
