Smoke is not an infectious virus so it’s not a perfect analogy but in any case, intentionally blowing cigarette smoke into someone’s face can be charged as assault.

They aren't doing that. People smoking tobacco are. A case could and was made they were deceiving people in the past, and they paid dearly for it. But right now they are just advertising to people and people are buying a hazardous product. They aren't threatening or attacking anyone.

It must comply to strict regulations about content, absence of undesired substances like heavy metals, dioxins, PCB's, etc. The production facilities must follow strict hygiene rules as to avoid contamination of salmonella or other micro-organism, and the FDA audits on a regular basis these companies. If companies don't comply with he regulations a public (!) warning letter can be written.

Again with the moving goalposts. And you might have forgotten that many of us eat what we shoot, or get from a garden. There's still thosands of choices regardless. So, yes, I choose what I eat and drink from a wide variety of options.

Not totally, but for a lot of years, most of our meat came from the woods and we used to get raw milk directly from Farmers, no FDA needed.
I rarely buy meat at the grocery store, even now and most of our meat this year will be venison, chickens we raised or sheep we raised. If we do get steaks it's from the local butcher.

Growing up, I would say 80% of our food came from the farm.

There are tons of restrictions on tobacco sales and use, mainly as it pertains to second hand smoke. You’ll notice a lot of these restrictions are aimed at protecting the public at large from the harmful effects of smoke and not the individual who personally chooses to smoke.

No, we're not being selective. Rather, we have a bunch of quasi-libertarians in this country who get in the way, complaining about the nanny state every time somebody tries implementing policies like this. There's only so much obstruction we can overcome.

It's amazingly ironic to watch conservatives complaining about the tobacco lobby because they want to downplay the preventable deaths from covid, as if they don't support that obstruction as well.
