I just found Christian forums by accident and i am shocked by what i read in the open forums by posters with Christian identities by their name. They claim homosexuality is normal and blessed by God. They claim sexual activity is okay outside marriage, they scoff at most of Gods commandments and pervert scripture. What is going on? why is their faith so weak?

1 Corinthians 5.9 States we should not have anything to do them, in which i wont. But it's sad coming to a Christian forum to find many of the posters are luke warm.

Jude 1 Dearly loved friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the truth of the Good News. God gave this unchanging truth once for all time to his holy people. say this because some godless people have wormed their way in among you, saying that God's forgiveness allows us to live immoral lives. The fate of such people was determined long ago, for they have turned against our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Yet these false teachers, who claim authority from their dreams, live immoral lives, defy authority, and scoff at the power of the glorious ones.

I know it is a shock when you first get here, especially when you are used to being in school and church where you never hear stuff like that!

But this is a pretty big forum, with many different people. There are many many good, faithful Christians on this forum...you just need to have an optimistic outlook. There are many good forums that are "christian" in nature... stay out of the other ones if you are not ready for them.

And don't get all angry when someone swears at you or insults your faith or morals...its part of being a Christian. Just take it and go on. You will see a lot worse if you are going to be a preacher, so get some practice while you are here.:)

I find it interesting that the only particular issue you pointed out that you raise objection with is homosexuality.
If Christians compromise one sin! thats enough for them to be classed as luke warm!! they do not fully believe the bible as Gods word.

If there was a poll thread if sex before marriage is a sin? I'm willing to bet money that there would be many Christians will compromise and say that it's okay in a loving relationship.

The acceptance of one sin opens the door to others!! to justify their sin! This is dangerous. Gods love is much better than sin. people are being deceived!!!!

Great thread Preacher_In_Training...There are lots of Christians being deceived. Lots of the Christians on here may NOT really be Christians--atleast NOT the Christian God wants them to be. Then there are the forums for NON-Christians, be sure NOT to confuse those forums.

By the way, I have been called every name in the book, I have been told in a PM to go to Hell, and much worse. Its something we as preachers have to get used too.

God Bless,
Joe

Yes no ones perfect, no one is righteous. The first forum i found is the current events forum. I'm not talking about the atheists here I'm talking about the Christians who preach homosexuality is not a sin, and that Christianity is not about the bible. there is to much heresy They claim God is kind, so it's okay to do what you want. There should be strict rules on what you post if wear that Christian Icon.... Like other forums have place.

Hi preacher_in_training,
One thing to remember is that this is not just a place for strong, "on-fire for the Lord" believers to get together and have fun. This is an outreach and a place to help others grow.
Also, because this is internet based, you are going to get a very widespread gathering of people from all around the world, from every culture and religion.
The people you mention are in need of spiritual help. Take care not to run them off because you may be the only one around to help them. Speak the truth... but speak the truth in love. Hey, and who knows.... you may even learn something also! I know I have!
We do have "Christian-Only" and "Everyone" areas. If we are in the "Everyone" area and we find we cannot stand any more "heathenism" ;) , then we just run back over here in the Christian only area to catch our breath.
Peace
Your brother

The thing about lukewarmness is its all about comfort zones. We all have one, but not all of us get out of it. If we're to catch everything God has for us, we're gonna need to do some things that our Body doesnt like. Who would be willing to fast for 40days if God called them to do so?

Zeal is important as well - You have to DESIRE what God has for you. I struggle to see how people cant desire what God has for them.

Jesus was willing to be beaten till the point of collapse, whipped, mocked, and crucified for us. And yet some still wont take an hour out to pray and read the word. Its absurd. Even if 10minutes was out of your comfort zone, God wouldnt mind.

But then it isnt for us to judge. At the end of the day people have to desire not to be lukewarm.

God Bless, metal.

What you have mentioned greatly grieves me also. I believe that a follower of Christ must endeavor toward, even passionately yearn for, the goal of holiness, and that it is necessary for all who desire a life of complete obedience to God. What I read on these forums by many who say they are Christians saddens me. Because of the acceptance and even approval of various sins (and advice to others to do the same), I know they are not being led by the Holy Spirit. They will never experience spiritual victory when they cannot embrace a love for personal purity. They have become so assimilated into the world that they are no different. If you show resistance to their unholy lifestyles and unbiblical doctrines by holding up the standard of Christ with Scripture, these people will not tolerate it. An assault in number will be leveled with “love” as the basis of their weaponry, and you will be called a fundamentalist, legalist, pietist, Pharisee, hater, extremist (and worse) and told you are judging and abusing other Christians. This can be discouraging and make you a candidate for forum burnout.

To look at the other side of the coin, sometimes it is quite difficult to maintain a loving composure when confronting blatant sin. We have Christ’s permission to know men by their fruits and to correct in love not criticism. We all have the inclination to sin that we inherited as human beings, and since we also have not yet reached sinless perfection, we have to carefully look at intentions and consider if we believe the sin is purposeful disobedience or misunderstanding of Scripture or spiritual weakness and then compose our words with caution and sensitivity.

It is each Christian’s personal choice how they want to live--consecrated and progressing toward Christlikeness, being all God meant us to be, or content to be lukewarm, defeated by old-nature desires, without the hunger and thirst for holiness. Please be encouraged that there are many Christians on this series of forums that believe in a message of victory through Jesus Christ, who refuse to accede to the sidetracks of sound doctrine, and do indeed follow the Bible faithfully. We need to remain here to urge and inspire hope, possibility and encouragement that we can all be Christlike with God's help.
