It’s lucky then that I’m very aware of how lucky I have been to have been born in my country and have been able to take advantage of the opportunities my accident of birth has given me.

Yes, we can think we are not doing wrong but is our actions or motives is what is count. Our actions comes from the heart, so that is what Proverbs 21:2 is about

Speaking of suffering and the topic of this thread, there is a lot of suffreing in the UK too, most created by man, it not has to be like starving children etc. imagine a world people are just to each other and helps, don't cheat, don't lie, don't compete in a unfair way, and don't have hate, selfishness etc etc, that world doesn't exists because man has a tendency to do wrong.

God did something about it you know how the gospel works right? there is redemption in Jesus and all preachers out there are telling you about the good news, now every person has to respond.

You mean God didn't know the things He created in terms of their functions But man can?
The bible teaches man with spiritual realities with spiritual taught words 1Corinthians 2:13...
So the heart spiritual function is what is explained in the verse i quoted (Proverbs 4:24).
