• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why are there so many atheism-related post?

Of course you realize that physical evidence is not a component of faith based belief in a personal God.

Not all Christians are your idealized concept of a Christian.

Some Christians at CF have suggested that the physical world is evidence of a personal God, and that we are fools if we don't see this as well. There are all sorts of arguments for the existence of God that are rooted in physical evidence.

that has no bearing on the fact that evidence is not a requirement of faith.

I may have said that my self. The civilization we live in is definitely evidence of gods. Even if these gods only exist within our minds, they have certainly had an influence on our civilization.

Apparently other theists don't agree with what you see as "fact." In fact, some have mentioned something akin to "faith without evidence is foolishness." I wonder how we can tell who's correct...

Indeed.... Faith is belief in something without evidence. If you are provided evidence, you no longer have faith, you have reason.

The concept of Gods sure have had an influence and impact. That doesn't mean those concepts are based in reality though.

Knowledge, not reason. Reason is a means to an end while knowledge is the end which can be used as a mean.

I stand corrected! You are right, I didn't word that correctly.

Thanks :)
