I know you are asking to try and figure out what I am saying, and that's fine. But I have answered these questions already.

We repent, we get baptized, confess Jesus as our Lord to walk in obedience, and receive the Holy Spirit that gives us new life.

So its back to repent, get water baptized, and then receive the Holy Spirit, aka Acts 2:38.

That is what one must do in order to be saved?

Please stop asking the same questions, I will not respond to you any further. I have answered these questions. Thank you

So if a believer does not walk a sinless life, then his salvation is not genuine to you?
He is born again, but he is either not walking according to the inclinations of his spirit. He is walking in the flesh, and/or he has not renewed his mind to align with the inclinations of his reborn spirit.
When I was first born again there were things I was doing that I was just ignorant of what was right and wrong. As one matures, the Holy Spirit enlightens us both in the Word and in our conscience about these things and we adjust. Nobody is perfect today. We all struggle every day. As Paul said, "I die daily." We all crucify the flesh daily. The day we die, we will still be struggling against the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life, the darkness that is in the world, and every other temptation.
As stated, we now have all that we need to overcome the world.

I think it's a mindset thing, honestly. It grieves me so much to hear people who claim Christ say, I'm just a sinner.

Jesus said in John 8 those who sin are a slave to sin, and the slave has no place within the family. But if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!

If we go about our day with this mindset of, I'm just a sinner and that's all I can do but praise God for forgiveness. Sure that sounds nice and Christianese. But we were called for more than that. He saved us and called us to a holy calling (2 Tim 1:9), be holy for I AM holy (1 Peter 1:15-16).

Can one who abides in Christ, also abide in sin? I say no. I really wish people in the church would stop normalizing sin by saying things like "I'm just a sinner if it's not one thing it's another." Get our minds off of things of this world, and put them upon things in the Spirit (Col 3:1-3, Phil 4:8, Romans 8:5-6) That's when freedom from things of the world comes and that's when POWER comes from on high.

Some things just become common talk in church settings I guess.

As born again Christians, we are no longer dominated by sin. That was eradicated when our spirit was reborn and The Holy Spirit sealed us unto redemption.

Do we have a flesh that wants to sin and tries to relive out it's old ways? Yes, of course, but we no longer have a sin nature that agrees with it and drives us into such things anymore.

You're missing the point I think.

Does God make empty promises? Does He tell us to do something then not give us the power to do it?

Be ye holy for I am holy.

Does He tell us that then not give us the ability or power to do it?

The point isn't your sin. The point is who you are in Christ. The Holy Spirit lives within all who believe. As we obey the Holy Spirit we grow in righteousness and holiness.

We are all commanded to put off childish things. Look at it like this. The spiritual life mirrors physical. A child is born and for some time needs milk to strengthen it's bones and mature. But the child will eventually be able to crawl, then walk, then run, then before long the child is an adult, no longer entertained by childish things.

When we are born again we are babes in Christ, needing spiritual milk. But we are also told to mature in Christ. Put off childish thing and grow in ever increasing holiness.

Romans 6:19 Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity, now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to Holiness.

We need to focus on who we are in Christ. Not dwelling on the flesh, but filling our mind on the Spirit and things of the Spirit (Romans 8:5-6, 1 Cor 2:16, Phil 4:8, Col 3:1-2)

If you stumble, you can ask for forgiveness and keep going. But God doesn't see us as sinners once we are in Christ, so why should we?
Do you ever stumble...?

If so, what do you do then...? Does it mean you are not saved...?

God Bless!

Thanks for clarifying.

We are to grow in holiness, and not sin. Not make excuses for our lack of trying. Which is why the church is so powerless, the old I can help but sin excuse

That's not what I said. I said we are to grow in holiness, actually scripture says that.

1 John 2:1
Romans 6:18
And are we to be the judges of one another's timing, or be their final judges if they still have some sin that is known to us in their life before they die?

You didn't answer my question either?

Do you ever stumble?

What do you do then?

Does it mean you are still saved or not?

God Bless!

Sure we are to grow in it, but many who only think they are growing in it, are only appearing righteous before men only, and are only trading one kind of lesser sin for another kind of sin that is even worse, even though they do not appear that way in men's eyes, etc...

Why should I seek to be better than they are, etc...?

God Bless!

There is a lot of "lifestyle" preaching anymore, and you know as well as I that lifestyle is only part of it.

Jesus is our perfect example that we are to reach for. Paul said "imitate me as I imitate Christ" so it is within the grasp of us all who are born again and Spirit filled to have more, it's just how disciplined and dedicated you are going to be to reach it.

It's not an easy thing, but what else are you going to do when you have plateaued?

Read the scriptures I posted :)
Many know of and have tried the way scripture tells us to try only to not be able to do it perfectly, or constantly, or like we should, or like other say we should, etc.

And got beat up and severely judged/criticized by those very same others who we could clearly see were not any better than us, and were perhaps worse than us, and got sick and tired of it, and of absolute and always continual constant perfection always being the goal or measuring line or standard, etc...

So, what would you have to say to those ones, etc...?

God Bless!

I feel like I have reached a plateau, but still have a couple of outward sins that others would probably judge me for and by, etc...

Does that mean I'm not saved...?

I want to go farther, but also feel like I am also holding a certain kind of ground right now also, etc, and I know that the great majority of people, and this is not me bragging at all, etc, but I know that the great majority of people, including many pastors and preachers and "church people", are not nearly as far in the area of being truly righteous, as I right now am, etc...

So, what do I do now, or from here, etc...?

God Bless!

If you have been saved, quit worrying about it. Rest in the knowledge and experience of it.

Although Jesus was perfect as the Son of GOD, GOD has chosen imperfect people to manifest His power through after His Son was received up in heaven. Trying to reach a perfect state is not the goal, allowing GOD to manifest His power through us to His glory is.

This is the part of holiness, where we continually reach up to GOD to attain it. We must receive it from Him, and that requires us to spend time with Him daily. It is His greatness that rubs off on to us.

I am not sure how this discussion came to the place where people are questioning their salvation. I do not doubt anyone's salvation based on the OP.

I think what he was trying to establish is whether the both of you believe in OSAS, or do you believe that a saved person can lose his salvation or was never really saved.

If I am not wrong, you are trying to find out whether he believe in OSAS?
More like trying to determine if or not he thinks a sinful person who is still sinful can still be saved if they still sin at all, or whether or not they have to be absolutely perfect, etc...

God Bless!
