AmenI want to show you something,...
14 These, all in one accord, were persevering in prayer [and petition], together with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and the brothers of Him.
The colored text was proven at Azusa street. Any church that put in the time like they did at Azusa street everyday would have the same results. It is a pattern that can be repeated,.... but most people won't put in the time for said results.
Amen
Also Isaiah 58
If
If
If
If
THEN
OT but still relevant and powerful imo
Yep.
At Azusa Street they had church every day of the week, and held services each day, multiple times a day and night. They were constantly seeking The Lord, and it is no wonder they had their Acts 2 Pentecost happen.
Look at our current churches now though, how they only have a service on Sunday,.... and you're lucky to find a church that has one on Wednesday anymore.
It would be AMAZING to meet a group of believers who would be willing to do this. But yes, most only want to scrape by. Live off crumbs. I want more...

I think that's a symptom of a deeper issue.
Ps 84:10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
Sadly it seems that many Christians now are happy enough in the tents of the wicked. God willing as more realise we're in the last of the last days it will reverse, there will be a desire to be in the courts of the Lord. God Bless
I was thinking of Hebrews 10:25
I agree, but if all you have is one day that you assemble together,...
It seems people are placing more importance onto worldly things instead of GOD, at least in my opinion.
It seems to me like, biblically, they all interceded, and they all went out and "put legs to their prayers." I admit that there's some room for that to be an interpretation, though."Why do we not see more power miracles today?"
Well, perhaps what we are missing in some situations today is intercession ...
genuine heartfelt, prevailing, love of God intercessory prayer?
Reading recently on intercession, I came across an article entitled:
"Why Revivalist Charles G. Finney Quit the Evangelistic Ministry"
This writer claims that Finney laid down his evangelistic ministry when his prayer partner, Father Daniel Nash, died. Finney realized that Nash's prayer partnership in the ministry was to key to his success. Finney himself was a man of deep prayer, but realized he needed the prayers of others, too.
Article:
WHY REVIVALIST CHARLES G. FINNEY QUIT THE EVANGELISTIC MINISTRY | The Flaming Herald (wordpress.com)
Seems like in the 'old days' (lol) we heard more about the ministry of intercession, not to say that we do not have intercessors now, but years ago we did seem to hear more about this very important ministry within the Church.
Perhaps if there were more intercessors ... we would see more miracles?

A couple of my own observations/theories concerning a "ministry of intercession".I would think that was how it was, also.
I have a hard time believing that Charles Finney actually quit his ministry solely over the fact that
Fr. Nash died. On the other hand, I can easily believe he quit his ministry when God showed him it was time to quit.
But apparently his relationship with Fr. Nash was an important one. And I think that may have been the point the writer of the article was trying to make, as the writer writes much about the ministry of intercession.
(You probably know all this, but, for the benefit of others who may not ... )
We all pray, and then there are those who are actually called to intercession as a ministry.
I don't know how often this occurs, but probably much more often than we know as much intercession is generally done 'hidden' from the public eye.
When one is an intercessor, the Holy Spirit will sometimes impress upon the intercessor's heart to pray for a certain person, ministry, event, etc. It is like God "assigns" an intercessor, in a very committed way, to a particular task, for a specific period of time. Sometimes for a lifetime. I suspect Fr. Nash felt committed to pray for Finney, and Finney was aware of this.
I saw these dynamics in action when I worked in the Assemblies. There was a woman committed to interceding for the church there. She did lead others in time of prayer but was firmly committed herself to continually pray for the needs of that church. She was always available to the pastoral staff for prayer requests; she worked closely with them in her prayer ministry to the Body of Christ there. She was a blessing to that church, and perhaps still is.
I recently read a book where the author began it by "thanking' those who had helped him in the writing of the book. He did not fail to mention a woman who had been an intercessor for him throughout most of his ministry. Apparently, God had put that assignment on her heart, permanently.
How often does this happen? I'm told it was known to happen often in the past. But I suspect it happens much now, too ...
This is illustrated by the parable of the wheat and the tares. The truth is that we cannot know by appearances whether a person is a true convert to Christ or a hypocrite who is professing Christianity for other reasons than having a transformed and renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. Only God Himself, who sees the hearts of people, knows for sure who are really His.What is the disconnect?
Well,.... I learned a couple things recently.
I found out that some folks can't be truly honest with GOD, especially in their prayer lives. That was a major surprise for me. I'm still unable to comprehend someone trying to hide things from GOD,..... Who knows all.
Second,..... some folks don't really have a learning relationship with The Holy Spirit. They don't really rely upon Him for everything that they can. They don't acknowledge His presence, they don't bring things to Him, they don't ask Him questions, they don't seek His help in understanding passage of scripture,.....etc.
Just these two things alone will absolutely forbid a person operating in His power. GOD is not giving powerful things to people who won't be honest to Him or one's that accept men's opinions over The Holy Spirit's teachings.
