Tell me how that is what I said in post #151?Can you please explain why God, who is also Jesus, inspired John to put this passage in the gospel if this conversation wasn't meant for anyone but the rich young ruler?

Obviously an extreme Christian is one who preaches to children that non belief in Christ results in eternal torture.

I don't know what I believe anymore, I was brainwashed for many years I think. You don't believe that?
I don't alter the quote box

For me to just say 'I am no longer a Christian' would be a massive thing just at the moment, that's why I've joined this forum, I am already getting the feeling I am on the right track though, I just need confirmation for myself. But you are still Christian? Why?
Perhaps. But I do consider an extremely unreasonable person to be one who is quite similar to what we might also call ... a 'stupid' person, being that a person's ridiculousness typically infers some level of unreasonableness.

The track away from religion, a track I've been on for quite a while.Right track? Meaning what? Going which way?

Ok. So what I said is that God does not want us to put anything before Him. That is the point, that the rich young ruler wanted his wealth more than God. That is what an idol is. Something more important than God.OK, fair point. So what is your point from that post then? You have access to a computer, meanwhile the world is starving. Are you putting wealth first?
This is not a thread to test your Christianity against. For me to just say 'I am no longer a Christian' would be a massive thing just at the moment, that's why I've joined this forum, I am already getting the feeling I am on the right track though, I just need confirmation for myself.
Maybe that is your problem. The track away from religion, a track I've been on for quite a while.

So, money is not necessarily the evil, but it is the love of money over God.
Does that make sense?
What did Jesus say the MOST IMPORTANT COMMANDMENT IS; to love the Lord your God with ALL your HEART, SOUL and MIND.
That's the point.
That's your pov, but you do not know any of us. So really your opinion doesn't mean much. Sorry, but very true.Do you love Jesus more than your wealth?
Did Jesus not say that whatever you do to little children and poor people is what you are doing to him?
You have enough wealth to provide for hundreds of hungry mouths, each for a decade. You could sell your TV and feed the starving children, but you just won't do it because you love your TV more than you love Jesus.

It's not whether you own something, but what you do with it.
