  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why are SDA so paraoid of Jesuits?

Shhhhh .... it's a secret ;)
Jesus revealed the "secret" in the book of Revelation:

Blue Letter Bible - Lexicon
Strong's Number G3466 matches the Greek μυστήριον (mystērion), which occurs 27 times in 27 verses in the Greek concordance

Last time used in NT:

YLT) Rev 17:7
and the Messenger said to me "Wherefore didst thou wonder? I -- I will tell thee the secret of the Woman and of the Beast that [is] carrying Her, which hath the seven heads and the ten horns......"

it is pretty telling of a church group who needs to deceive in order to pass their version of the truth. What does that truly say about them and their truth?

It wouldn't be a secret it we knew about it. But i don't know about such things anyway, just saying.
Well, don't just say that then.
Think about it.
Stop thinking in absolutist terms. Definitions become unrealistc when we do.
If I tell you the secret, of course it is no longer a secret to you, but it is still a secret. How can that be? It is more about intent. If we go absolutist, ther is no such thing as a secret when even one person finds it out.
See what I mean?

The historicaly & presently documented frauds of the RCC make Rivera look like a rank amateur.

The Wikipedia link I gave does mention Rivera's deceptions.

How many have been documented?
There is an interesting discussion on this now defunct thread:

Of course there are many, many more, so many in fact that at one point during the dark ages, prior to the schism in 1064AD, the Greeks refused to accept any documents from Rome, calling Rome a "forgery factory".

The Lord's Day

Rev. 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

What day is the Lord's day?

Some say Sunday. Some say Saturday. But I say each day. Here's why from both Scripture and Tradition.

In a different thread, I spoke about how Jesus taught the apostles and they uniformly taught the Church about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Church first observed His death on the 14th of Nisan on whatever day of the week it fell on. It was like your birth day in that regard.

Praise the Lord, show forth His salvation, rejoice, and be glad it His day.

Well, you see, that's the problem with 7th day sabbaths; they are so time zone dependent. And if one depends on sunset for starting the day and sunset for ending it then those who happen to be near the poles (north and south) will have a very long sabbath once every seven years or so. All very unsuitable for a Catholic :)

some of them might have been witches, or crazy people
there are reports of women gladly saying that they had sex with the devil in the form of a giant black cat and put curses on neighbors and stuff, laughing on the way to the gallows

and what area are you talking about, do you think this only happened in Salem? This happened through out Europe and America

from between the 1400's and the 1700's somewhere between 35,184–63,850 were killed for being witches in the Americas and Europe
now this estimate is counting Catholic and Protestant countries
but still, this is a huge number, you can not just write it off

Didn't only happen in Salem, but the picture I saw looked like Massachusetts so I assumed it was Salem.

That's typical of the jokes Jesuits tell about themselves.

Remains a very good question.

I think that it is because the Jesuits have been effective preachers and teachers, helping strengthen the Catholic Church by helping people be good and wise Catholics, setting up a social structure that helps Catholics

I kind of enjoy reading SDA flights of fancy about the naughtiness of Jesuits ;)

It's like Chick comics but in words only - no lurid drawings.

Mind you, there is a strange quality to all those images of heaven and the heavenly two-tablets of stone in SDA iconography.

What's with the encircling clouds?

Oh, and what is THE ANDREWS STUDY BIBLE like? It's SDA notes in a NKJV I saw on amazon but what's it about?
