Who is talking about sacrificing their families and children?
Just a little fixISIS is a band of murderers and rapists. They worship Satan. They hate God and the Holy Spirit and they hate you if you're Christian [or muslim.....or basically, just not them.] Anyone who thinks they can persuede ISIS in any way is a fool, and anyone who sacrifices their families, including their children for ISIS' sake, has helped ISIS and their father the devil.
Didn't you watch the video in post 200? You 'liked' it...
The connection you are trying to make about modern-day homelessness and Jesus traveling with the apostles is not there. That's my point.
I believe there is definitely a connection. Elijah is described in the Book of Kings as being "swift of foot" (a traveler) and he lived in the "wilderness and had a wild appearance", at one point he was taken in by a widowed woman. The polite term is "rambling man", the term "hobo" also comes to mind. John the Baptist is described the same way, a recluse wearing a hairy shirt who lived in the wilderness eating wild honey and grasshoppers. I can relate to that, I dug up earth worms and ate them raw when I walked down the San Francisco River from New Mexico to Stanton Arizona. Been there, done that. Raw eggs from bird's nests tastes better than worms though, and it goes down easier. Don't chew !
We've already read from another CF member, according to Scripture, the "Son of Man will have no place to rest his head". I didn't even get the chance to post that one, he beat me to it. In the Gospel, a rich man asked Jesus what he needed to do to follow him, and Jesus replied, "Go and sell that which you have, and give the money to the poor", (Matthew 19:21, Mark 10:21). Jesus didn't tell the rich man to bring the money back to him. In fact, there is no evidence in the Gospel record of Jesus ever personally handling money, except when he showed the Pharisees a Roman coin and said "Render unto Cesar the things that are Cesars, and unto God, that which are Gods', (Matthew 22:21)' and he had to borrow the coin from one of the Pharisees to illustrate his point. I suppose you'd call someone today who has no interest in money, or the things money can buy a "vagrant", wouldn't you ?! Isn't that the right label you'd use ?
Have you noticed the number of Cf members in this thread who disagree with you ? I'm knocking back some serious "likes" trying to explain the "spirituality" of homelessness to you "thatbrian", I just got another medal a minute ago. Christians recognize other Christians when they hear their voice, (John 10:27). Go and sell everything you have, take a walk from Houston to Sweetwater Texas in July, and when you meet a illegal Mexican immigrant hiding in a culvert, see if he doesn't offer to share his food and water with you... then you'll understand what I already know.
FYI. A sociologist working on her degree at a shelter told me, the incidence of mental illness, drug abuse, alcoholism, crime and domestic violence, is no higher in the homeless population than it is in the general population. Want her phone number ? She's probably still working at the same shelter. It wasn't all that long ago I met Karen. And personally, I don't think George was mentally ill.
;-)
There was gonna be....then I changed my mind. The one point though was REAAAAAAAAL good though
No. But he too speaks of the stages of Jihad. He has a video channel as well.Don't know him. Whis is your teacher?
Many muslims are coming to Christ over this crisis, as they are realizing the lie their old religion is. We can't bring bibles to these areas of the world they come from. The more that come the merrier, anything that progresses the gospel is good.
Sure, that is entirely possible. He's the only one I knew of. Which is why I asked if that was the person who was your source.Ok. He may be the first to list them, but I think there are others now.
Just reading page 1 of this thread....and honestly it's shocking. I'd like to reply, but even page 1 is too much. But it is an answer to another question: Why differences between Christians are so vast.
For someone to call themselves a Christian, and write "Trump 2016" is beyond my wildest dreams. There are literally not two more contracting concepts I can think of. Like we can disagree about many things, but at the end, sometimes, you just have to stare wide-eyed and clueless. It is like a committed vegetarian explaining how much he loves eating meat. Or someone who hates horror movies watching a "Saw" marathon for three weeks straight.
What is a Christian? Is there anything we can agree on?

You're conflating Liberal politics with Christianity. They are not the same thing.
Liberal politics like this?
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
Liberal politics about not demonizing entire groups of people, acting like an arrogant buffoon, bragging about sleeping with many women, owning strip bars and casinos, etc. etc.
Again, I ask the question, what is Christianity? If a person can claim to be a Trump supporter and be a Christian at the same time, what definition are we left with? Is there anything we can agree on?
