that does not mean they do not have an understanding of it .. but it does mean they do not desire to obey it and so do not want to hear it .
and in their hearing of the word instead of their DOING of the word they deceive themselves and that deception just grows and grows the more they only want to hear it but never DO it .
Here's where your theology falls apart.
You quoted those two verses. The first said if you don't love the Lord Jesus Christ then you are Anathema Maranatha.
The next verse say...if you love me, keep my commandments.
......Have you kept EVERY commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ? If not then by your own words YOU are "Anathema Maranatha".
Plain as if wearing a blindfold while reading it!! lo buddy
I see well enough to know Catholicism has issues i must avoid. I sure dont need their teachers, thats for sure. I might end up praying to mary, the sinless queen of heaven, or buying sin indulgences, or going to purgatory, or bowing to his holiness the pope as i kiss his ring, or taking a pilgrimage to the holy land Rome.
I never said all those things were commanded. People learn them by example. Peter would be appalled if anyone got on their knees to kiss his ring. It demonstrates an utter lack of discernment by the pope and his followersSome things, if you really knew Catholicism, are not a 'must'. One doesn't 'have' to kiss his ring etc or take a pilgrimage etc!
Sin indulgences dont exist these days buddy. That was a human mistake in history. We are all human! Blessings buddy
Indeed. But, can the few that find it, give it to those that did not? I recall Romans 10:20
John Hyperspace said:What do you think it means to "see the Lord"? To me, this means that without peace and holiness it's not possible to see the Lord everywhere around us, working through all things according to love. I'm reminded of 1 John 4:12 and 3 John 1:11
Okay thanks. When do you want to list your fruitful deeds?
miknik5 said:Or are you saying that those who claim to belong to HIM are guilty of doing the works of the kingdom of darkness?
When you see your brother sin
Are you simply announcing these sins beforehand in the possibility they will apply to someone here or probably apply to someone here?
Yes. Every christian that has walked the earth and is alive today has unrepentent sin. That would include you.
So are you saying that a believer can abide in unrepentant sin (like lying, or lusting after a woman) and still be saved?
Yes or no?
...
Do you have a problem with Christians living righteously?
Anyways, It's not about me. It's about Christ. It is His fruitful deeds. Not mine.
My boast will be in Him for any good done in my life.
My listing of the good Christ has done in my life here is not a good idea because many are not accepting that a believer is supposed to live holy as a part of being right with God.
They will take it as a form of boasting, when it is not.
Besides, the Bible and it's teachings will remain true, regardless of my life.
For the Word of God is our standard and not by our looking around us.
We trust in God's Word by faith and not by sight.
Just because somebody claims to be Christian does not mean that they really are one. Any person whether they be a believer or an unbeliever and defends the idea that they can sin and still be in God's good graces with no repentance is only fooling themselves. God is good. He cannot side with a person's wrong thinking that they can do evil and yet be rewarded with their entering God's Kingdom. It doesn't work like that. For we are to have the mind of Christ.

The Law people and those who believe that works are part of 'proving salvation' will always doubt everyone else's salvation but their own.Just because somebody claims to be Christian does not mean that they really are one. Exactly. Please keep that in mind and leave all perfect judgement to the ONE who will lay bare the hidden agenda and motives of the heart to see what is wrought in GOD
When did whether someone is saved become your decision? So are you saying that a believer can abide in unrepentant sin (like lying, or lusting after a woman) and still be saved?
Yes or no?

Those people were so obviously in sin there was NO DOUBT about it. Men having relations, intimate relations with their daughter in laws.Christians can judge other believers.
While Paul told the Corinthians that they were to judge sinful believers and leave people outside the church to God (1 Corinthians 5:12-13). James said that our judgments of others must be done with mercy (James 2:12-13).
....
The Law people and those who believe that works are part of 'proving salvation' will always doubt everyone else's salvation but their own.
ToBeLoved said:Just as God's Word states, grace by faith in Jesus Christ and NOT by works, lest ANY man boast. This to me seems part of the BOASTING that each one who feels earned their own way to heaven seems to feel perfectly righteous in judging the Lord's Children, because of what one feels they have done right.
ToBeLoved said:Anyone that 'really' believed God is sovereign knows that they have no right to judge, nor can they even judge righteously and those saints will always leave judgement to Jesus. But the wonderful Law people, by their own works feel that they have offered God something so much better than the next person, the one they say is probably not saved in the first place, I presume.
I like it when I see someone's words matching what they do. Can't just talk the talk you know.
