Why an eternal hell?

of course it does, you are saying that something ceases to exist, this.....simply .....is not true.

So, the WTC still exists? Sure, I would agree that its component parts continue to exist somewhere as something, but you are saying that this means that the WTC has not ceased to exist. And, this makes sense to you?!?!?

So, let me ask you: since my house is built from wooden beams, which are cut from several trees, does that mean that my house is a forest?

The Bible says nothing about an eternal hell. The doctrine seeped into Christianity from paganism, as did immortality of the soul and the so-called 'undead' and 'day of the dead' as seen in Catholicism on 'All souls day' are straight out of the Eleusian mysteries and the ancient cult of Persephone (Isis). Vampires, saints, werewolves, immortal beings, gods, nymphs, fairies, zombies all have pagan origins and have nothing to do with the Bible. This beings are all the undead and live forever. The world is obsessed with this satanic garbage. The Bible tells us: "the soul that sinneth, it shall die." Ezekiel 18:4. There is no such thing as an immortal soul or hellfire that burns forever.

Well, that's one GOOD reason to evangelize the world! To go out and make disciples of every nation, because people need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What about all the people killed in WW2? I don't know. I wasn't alive then - I wasn't there. Most of us are too young to have been around then. But I know God is just. He has a plan, and His plan includes giving everyone a chance to accept Christ.
And all the people alive today in "outer Mongolia"? Or Papua New Guinea? Or India? Or wherever? I don't have complete biographies for every individual on the planet. But God does! I do all I can to share the Good News and support Bible translation and distribution. But it is up to God to work it all out.
Anyone who gets to heaven got there through Christ. Everybody who goes to hell gets there because they died in their sins. The Lamb sits on the throne and divides the sheep from the goats - I don't.

What is this plan to give everyone a chance to hear the gospel, from the mission work I did in the 80's, I can assure you the tribes we worked with had never heard the gospel, so numerous generations died before that never heard it. It can also take decades to convince a tribe to change it's culture.

It is the same all over the world. When Christ said he was the only way, the gospel was just being preached in that area, it took 400 years before it reached Europe, another 1000 until it touched the Americas, millions died without hearing the gospel. There isn't one shread of evidence that shows Christ somehow gave the gospel to all these people except the word being spread through missions. The other issue was it wasn't so much spreading the gospel as it was taking land from tribes, it was done either by converting them or killing them, why so many tribes refused the gospel.
A simple study on the American Indian to prove the point.

If God somehow gives the gospel or spread it to the world through means other than people, then why worry with missions to start with.

Look what I found. In the Bible even.

Luke 16:22-28 (NASB)
22 ; and the rich man also died and was buried. 23 "In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and *saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 "And he cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.' 25 "But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony. 26 ~'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who wish to come over from here to you will not be able, and that none may cross over from there to us.' 27 "And he said, 'Then I beg you, father, that you send him to my father's house— 28 for I have five brothers—in order that he may warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

This is the argument --

Annihilationism: there is nothing in Scripture that speaks of Eternal Torment. Here are some verses that show that the fate of the damned is death and destruction rather than torment.

The response from eternal tormentalists: Here are a bunch of verses that speak of torment, and here are a bunch of verses that speak of things that are eternal. Therefore, the Bible teaches eternal torment. And, those verses that speak of death and destruction really refer to eternal torment.

the fact that it was God's son ought to mean something! Also God can do anything He wan'ts. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins! That obviously doesn't mean a sheep goes to hell forever! It means a sheep dies. So obviously God accepts to death of a unspotted lamb!
So why would God WANT to torture anybody (the vast majority of his creation) forever and ever and ever and ever?

I've been asking this a lot but nobody answers me.

Do you think anybody deserves to be tortured forever?

I take the deafening silence as a 'no' - thankfully, nobody here actually think anybody at all deserve neverending suffering. Yet, many think that God is not only righteous, but also merciful, AND almighty, yet it's his will to torture us forever.

You want us to act like it's not there too? Every English Bible I know of has it.

"They shall be tormented day and night forever and ever."

Why would He want to drown all but 8 including children?
I don't know. Those verses speak of God punishing people for their sins, I don't know why that would include innocent people.

Still a pretty long shot from first killing them, men women and children, and then go on to torture them endlessly.

What do you think God's reason for wanting to torture people forever is?

Yes us, because that seems to be the default situation: you are born, you will sin no matter what, and God wants to torture you day and night for longer than you can possibly imagine. Unless you're one of the very few lucky ones who gets saved.

Where does the bible say God has to do something he doesn't want to? Who, or what, is it that forces God to do the most evil and unjust thing you can possibly imagine (actually, you can't even imagine it - perhaps you can imagine the first 234509870986234502398670976029384570982374509834096879452093847598730295 years of suffering)?

Whatever God's reasons are they are righteous. He offers mercy on those who repent.
