As there has been a few people who have cited R.E. Lee as their hero, and noone so far has repeated my choice of Abe Lincoln, I am a little curious to as how he was able to divert a guerilla war with his defeat.oldrooster said:Robert E. Lee, who probably was the best military commander that the US has ever produced, who served the worst cause ever. He was as remarkable in defeat as well as victory, and probably was the one reason that the US did not sink into an endless guerilla war at the end of the civil war as many southern leaders wanted.
