I'm having a lot of trouble suspending disbelief enough to imagine a tent in a third world country where they
A) have the technology to perform a blood transfusion
B) have the ability to test the blood to make sure it is of my type
C) but don't have the ability to test the blood for diseases
and D) have enough information about the donor's background to know that the virgin is virgin and that the homosexual is homosexual, but not enough to know if, say, the virgin is an IV drug user or not, or if the homosexual is celibate or not.
all in all, this poll seems extremely contrived, for the express purpose of forcing people to make arbitrary and meaningless choices, so that completely meaningless but powerful-sounding implications may be drawn from them.
Since, for this situation to make any sense at all, the doctor must know things he is not revealing to me (if he's checking the virginity status of the donors, he must now the homosexual's background also, for example) I would ask the doctor to make the choice.
