Who Wants to be a Mod?

No I haven't had any direct confrontations with him. But it doesn't take much tell what he or you believe since people express themselves more openly on the internet (for lack of retribution) than in person.

as I said, you don't know me, because if you knew me, you would know that I express myself more openly in person than I do on the internet... On the web I can filter, go back and edited, etc... in real life, that is not necessarily possible.....

I don't think anyone wants to accept the nomination to be a mod just to be hit with personal evaluations.

Let's all save that for our VOTES and thank these people that are willing to take on such a daunting task. It is definitely going to be rough at first and I admire anyone that's willing to do it.

Sophia is a good mod also. I won't cast a vote for her, because I don't know that she has any desire to keep doing the job.

I don't blame her. We are an obstinate lot.

Sophia did a good job when she was a mod here. But I don't know if she's willing.

Hey Everyone,

Whew! I really needed to read this thread as it started. I just spent an hour going through all 17 pages of posts! Finally made it to the end, though. *lol*

I am very honoured that you would suggest me, Tall! Surprised too! Especially since I have not been around for a very long time yet. And thank you tons for the second, T&O and Night.

Firstly, I want to say that I am seriously considering this. Since I've only just found out this is an option for me, I'm gonna sleep on it tonight before I accept to let myself be voted on.

T&O mentioned that I'm still doing my schooling and this is true. However, since it's a home course I am online every day. With the added responcibility of being a mod I'm sure I could devote more time to it, too.

Although I've never actually moderated a big board like this before I have had websites of my own since the age of 12 and have done rather well with them, including a message board a couple years ago. (It was for a very successful Johnny Depp site I had for a few years from 12-15). I also have my own graphic design and layout website which I own now too..So I'm not oblivious to how it all works. It can be hard sometimes to lay down the rules, but completely neccisary.

Anyway, I don't want this to sound like I'm trying to sell myself as a mod, because I honestly need some time to think this over. The idea does excite me, though. Just needs some prayer time.

Oh, and I'm mroe than willing to take my "view all posts" thingy off of private if I do decide to accept..and the quiz is fine too. I understand how important this can be and am willing to answer whatever so you guys can really know what you'd be getting yourself into. *lol*

I'd also second (or third, I guess) Doc, Red, and Jim from what I know of them at this point. Due to some convo I've had with Ice recently I'm not sure I'd feel that I could second him at the moment and I's assume he knows why..Although I'd trust him if he believes he can be uninflunced by that stuff.

This is a big decision, and considering I'd be relying on Him most of the time while moderating I figure He should have a say too.

The question threads sounds good to me. But, I'm not too clear on the polls part. Will there be one poll with all mod applicants or a seperate poll for each with a yes or no option?

I think the guidelines are fine EXCEPT that I don't see the point in having two separate threads for each one. That would cram the forum completely.

I propose that we put one thread up for people to ask questions of each of the candidates. One post per person, as listed in the guidelines.

Once that has run for a while we can post their polls.

sounds like a plan... when you do that please leave my name off of the list of those being considered. While I suspect I could do the job, I also suspect that it will cause more trouble and division probably... I am sure that there are other progressive thinking people who are just as capable and are viewed more favorably than I..... thanks...

Lol, yes a simple no would work. But that is what they put in the guidelines, and is a hold-over from the old system. I guess it sounds more polite..or patronizing, depending on your perspective
