Least we forget so soon--harsh words have been thrown from BOTH sides.

And Storm--I was just kidding about wanting to be a mod--that is the LAST thing on this earth that would interest me--especially in this forum.

I opened a thread one time over in PALTALK,and within one hour I had to red dot three people because they continued to bash others in the room irregardless of the warnings I gave them. I hated to ban them--I really did--but it was for the sake of the others in the room that I HAD to do it. Once I closed that room--I never opened it again. I didn't like being in that position. I wouldn't like it here either.

But the respond I got from you is exactly what I had expected. Now you know how I feel about the offshoots getting a mod position.

If we need 4-5 mods, we should get some outsiders to be impartial.

This might be a good option. However, an outsider does not understand the dynamics involved in differing SDA theology, much less the social dynamic going on here.

Since much of the disputation arises from doctrine and different SDA worldviews, someone who isn't familiar with our church will not be able to mod as effectively.

At least have the majority of mods be Adventist.

The attacks have definitely come from both sides. I think we can all agree on that one.

Seriously, I'm not sure what everyone thought "stricter rules to prevent personal attacks" really meant as they voted for that.

But it doesn't matter what theology anyone follows, at least to me, if they're a mean person they won't get my vote. If they're a nice person and I don't agree with a thing they say, I will vote for them.

**PS...my dad is home now and there were NO signs of colon cancer....praise the Lord!**

At this point it may be very difficult to get someone from outside.

It wouldn't take much to spot a personal attacks and flames. The theological discussions are not what we want to avoid. It's the unchristian comments we want to do away with.

Praise the Lord for your dad!

Yeah, I voted for Sophia also. She's not exact TSDA.

I did say, traditional (or progressive side), and to be honest it would make me no difference who it was as long as they were impartial. Even if those who said harsh words made a commitment not to allow their personal belief systems interfere with their duties as moderator, I would be fine with that.... however I have seen the passion with which some people have gone at other people and I doubt that with all that passion they could be neutral in moderating....

I am objecting to the term 'offshoot' being used in such a general way. It is nothing more than an attempt at provoking a certain group.

I am a baptized member of the SDA church in good standing and have been for 15 years. I am not affiliated with any independent liberal groups.

So even though some don't seem to care and defiantly insist on declaring others not part of the mainline church, I will thank them for for keeping the 'offshoot' label to themselves.

You can go to the traditional subforum and cast it about as freely as you like and I could care less. Keep it out of the main forum.
