Who Wants to be a Mod?

Sophia did a good job when she was a mod here. But I don't know if she's willing.

Tall may not be an adventist very soon and he also wanted to quit the forum.

Reddog could be a good choice.

I think if someone feels they would do a good job and wants to do it, that they shouldn't be embarrassed or shy at this point. TELL US!

There might be people qualified/excited about it that we're just not thinking about, and I'd give everyone a fair shot.

I think all of us on here would.

Sorry I'm more of a 'come and go as I wish' type of person. I've always had problems with rules and regulations. So I'm not cut out to keep others in line.

I have one question. Those members here who believe they would be good moderators, especially those from the traditional side (or the progressive side) who have called all those who don't believe as they do every name in the book but a child of God, how can they be impartial and fair?

Knowing that a person has expressed that they don't consider some people adventists, yet they will have the power to enforce rules here, how is that a good thing?

Interesting mj..... though I am a moderator of another forum, I suspect that there are members here who call themselves traditional who would not like to see me become a moderator here. While I cannot say for certain if they like me or not, I do know that they don't care for me, nor do they trust me. Consequently, me being a moderator for them would be like a nightmare. Not because I can't do the job, but because of their feelings about me.....

I would have serious reservations about how the forum would operate if all the moderators here ended up being from the traditional camp....

Amen Stormy. That is why I have limited my Traditional nominations to TrustAndObey and Reddogs. They are the only two I feel I can trust to be impartial.

I'm embarrassed. Trust me, I'm working on my short tempers let me put it this way. Plus I'm a born rebel. Not a good candidate to tell someone else to follow the rules.

If we need 4-5 mods, we should get some outsiders to be impartial.

I am not fanning any flames, but I am concerned that if all the moderators end up being those who consider themselves "traditional adventists" can we expect them to be impartial given some of the harsh things they have said?

This can be avoided by having separate votes from each camp. This is unfortunate but the rhetoric that continues to spue from the Traditional side bespeaks trouble.

Hello? Am I invisible?

I nominated two Progressives!

Well, wait, I seconded a nomination for one of them, and I nominated the other one a long time ago....but still.

I do NOT want all Traditional moderators any more than any of you do.

My main reason? Because if this forum gets bad (well, worse)...who's going to get the blame? Moderators get held to a higher standard, and sometimes they don't deserve the lickings they take when they were just trying to be fair.

So it's almost like saying "I like you, so I want you to be a mod....and try not to get too burned." Seriously...it's like throwing them into the fire.

So I'm nominating and voting on people that are WILLING to do it anyway.

I'm a fair person and if I see someone qualified, I do not CARE from what "camp" they came from. Period.
