Who Wants to be a Mod?

I was asking a different question. (I used to be a Robert's Rules of Order buff.) Normally, if I nominate you someone has to second my nomination for your name to be considered. For example, Honor just seconded T&O's nomination of Sassy.

I also forgot that according to CF rules a person has to have a sponsorship from another moderator before being allowed to become a moderator.

Nevertheless, we can still vote for who we would like to see become moderators.

They just endorse that the person that was nominated is a good person, ect?

It really means nothing but that is the structure of the forum.

I don't want to be a mod. In the best of times it is a thankless task. However, we do need mods here, and perhaps I could be one of them.

I am often on forums, due to being lazy at work.

I sent Sassy a PM this morning and it started with "please don't hate me, BUT....." I'm hoping she'll accept the nomination because she really would do an excellent job.

I think if T&O and Sassy don't mind, I'd like to see them become mods. Also I think it might also be a good idea for outside mods. But at this point, I don't know who would want this job.

I think if someone feels they would do a good job and wants to do it, that they shouldn't be embarrassed or shy at this point. TELL US!

There might be people qualified/excited about it that we're just not thinking about, and I'd give everyone a fair shot.

OTD, my family and classes have to come before this forum, and when I'm in school, I go months without coming here.

I don't think I COULD be a mod, but I'd love to.

It just isn't in the cards for me right now.

What exactly would the job entail? For example, how many hours per day does a mod need to be on? etc.

I mean i have a good idea what they do since i have been here for a number of years, i just dont know what goes on behind the scenes.

A lot more people in the 'traditional' camp are being suggested for Mod. Maybe it is because people who aren't in that camp are willing to suggest people in the 'traditional' camp but people in the 'traditional' camp seem to be a lot less willing to suggest people who aren't in that camp.
