The difference being that one can examine the context and application of both the NT and the Quran. When doing so one finds a call to self-sacrifice, and forgiving enemies, loving neighbors who believe differently, as demonstrated by Jesus in his ministry, his death on the cross, and his resurrection.

The Quran paints a different story altogether. With abrogation in the Medinan Quran, we find 29 calls to Jihad in the first 10 seras alone. We find calls to wipe out (genocide) entire villages. We find the call to make people submit at the point of the sword.

We find an uneducated Muhammed with multiple wives having one at the age of 9.

Now one can go the route the RCC has gone and suggest that Islam started there but has changed it traditions and evolved into a "religion of peace," due to the jurists.

I'm not opposed to that approach, but it is not the one you have chosen. And the only way to analogize the NT and the Quran is if one's audience is ignorant of one or both texts.

So, when you meet (in fight Jihad in Allah's Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives)... In Christ we have the wages of sin (death) being paid for us. However, where before the followers of false gods were under the sentence of death, now they are offered the grace of Jesus Christ. because usually the last religion is the most complete one..why? Judaism came with some info, after it Christianity came with an info added to that of Judaism..after it Islam came with infos more added to that of Christianity..that is why you should follow islam

I am asking you what is the difference between the teaching of Jesus and of Prophet Mohammad...Jesus called us to be merciful so as prophet Mohammad Jesus called us to be kind with people so as prophet Mohammad..prophet Mohammad invited us to be dutiful to our parents so as Jesus....in the Quran it is mentioned about prophet Mohammad: "verily! you were sent as a mercy for humankind"

who told you so...I am a Muslim from a Muslim family we all do reject terrorism and terrorist and we believe that they will never enter Paradise...you are ignorant of what is happening in our lands...we are Muslims being attacked by those so called Muslims..they are bombing us and killing innocent Muslims...there is so much difference between those terrorists and what they are doing and between the teaching of the prophet..the prophet calls us to be kind and merciful..yet they have nothing to do with kindness and mercy

as for Oedipus that was a myth ..it is not a real story

yes, there is some perfect truth, namely the truth of That Who is really the true Lord God, and we should be careful not to replace it with a false one and not to distort it - the process of seeking the true one at least begins with this, for example with finding (the) right questions and answers, such as, what is God?!, what is His role?!, is there any other god besides Him?!, is He good or evil?!, is He a Savior or a waster/ruiner of humans?!, if there is any other god besides the main One, what is his nature, to do good or evil?!, etc., or will it be safe/good for us to be religious irresponsibly (e.g. without being faithful to the perfect truth)?!

even if the story of oedipus is a parable, didn't Jesus speak in parables?!, or can't the parables be instructive?!

because usually the last religion is the most complete one..why? Judaism came with some info, after it Christianity came with an info added to that of Judaism..after it Islam came with infos more added to that of Christianity..that is why you should follow islam
anyway from other perspective every one who believes in one God if they were jewish or Christians they are also considered Muslims due to their believe in God the one..hope you understand if you believe in God the one you are then a Muslim like Muslims
moreover, I call you to become Muslims why?? because the Torah was changed and misinterpreted, the bible was changed and misinterpreted ..yet for the Quran not even one point has changed since the revelation of the Quran till now

If the personality traits of God are similar in different monotheistic religions then I suppose you are correct that the same God is being worshiped under different names. God's personality traits are partially expressed through the guidance that He provides through religion.

I am asking you what is the difference between the teaching of Jesus and of Prophet Mohammad...Jesus called us to be merciful so as prophet Mohammad Jesus called us to be kind with people so as prophet Mohammad..prophet Mohammad invited us to be dutiful to our parents so as Jesus....in the Quran it is mentioned about prophet Mohammad: "verily! you were sent as a mercy for humankind"

don't you notice that Jesus and Mohammad are talking about the same mercy and the same forgiveness which is that of the father God the one..there is no greater mercy...it is the same mercy from our God your God and ours ..the mercy of the same lord of God the father the unique whom both prophet Mohammad and jesus talked about..
there is no greater forgiveness it is the same from one lord the lord of Jesus and Mohammad
trust me prophet Mohammad is not a bad person he is not an evil person nor terrorist..our prophet is a peaceful person who used to be kind to people read my first post in this thread you will read a story about prophet Mohammad and his jewish neighbor who the prophet used to help him and be kind to him...he is a really righteous man...since a longtime they are trying to deface the truth of this prophet...they are liying to you about the truth of prophet Mohammad:

i didn't say Mohammad had bad intentions as a prophet, but i said He seems to have been a very serious prophet, indeed, it seems that He did righteous deeds by having removed idolatrous worship from persia and having tried to join those people with the Lord God of Israel, Who is actually the only true One, so Mohammad seems to have been a very serious prophet, but it will be better for the worshipers to walk the path of these prophets, which is a progressive path of betterment of people's life, for example if Mohammad didn't remove idolatrous worship from persia and didn't try to join the concerned people with the Lord God of Israel, Who is actually the true One, would they stop worshiping those idols there, and would they start worshiping the Lord God of Israel?!, but i don't/can't remember any of the true Prophets claiming that the worshipers must follow only what They managed to do for humankind - i rather see how They pointed/showed the right direction/way of practicing the faith with a call for further development, for example has Mohammad saved all people of the world completely and permanently since he preached all those things written later in Quran?!, or has Jesus Christ saved all people of the world completely and permanently since he did all those feats two millennia ago?!, but you know how these prophets said things such as: be careful to continue the work of overall salvation, to please the true One as much as possible, to perfect yourselves, etc., because there was still a need for more people to work for overall salvation in the true One, which is why Jesus said:

Matthew 9:37-38 "The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields."

and which is also why St Paul the Apostle said:

Hebrews 6:1-9 "Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. And this we will do, if God permits. For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned. But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and things that accompany salvation, though we are speaking in this way."

so they say, we the preceding Prophets of the true God hope for better salvation on your part i.e. that you provide better salvation for everyone or that you manage to achieve more than we could do for humankind - we hope for something better for the world on the part of the succeeding worshipers, for example one of the greatest Prophets ever lived, namely Elijah, went a day's journey into the wilderness with a great regret in his heart in order to die there confessing before God that he finds himself very sinful for having killed all those 450 prophets of baal (1 Kings 19:4) - he didn't dare to be proud of that act he did, but rather confessed before God that he is very disappointed with/in himself for having done so, and for having failed to save those people...
