There are two roads in this life on either of which all travel.

A cross stands where the two roads diverge. The narrow way is the road of obedience. The travellers on these two roads are very different too.

The popular one is such because it is very wide and smoother, being rather like our very best highways.
Everyone is welcome on this road and it will accomadate every man's opinions and inclinations. In is not even necessary to search for this road .It is the most natural thing to find yourself travelling on it.You can believe whatever you like and live anyway you want too.

It isn't all easy travelling this way though. All along there are warnings not to stay in it.It looks easier than it really is.There is care and disappointment ,pain and penalties and finally death and hell. The pleasures on this road are a well concealed deception.Sadly the travellers on this road try hard to supress all thoughts of where this road is taking them and pass their time with as much joking and laughing they can instead.

The less travelled road is more like a narrow gravel track .This road goes upward .It is the road to heaven. To enter in it ,you must give up your own ways ,your own will, your wrong habits and unchristlike practises.Following Christ must necesarily be followed by sacrificing the world's opinions or the world's standard. Heaven's path is too narrow for status and a fat bank account to make any difference , too narrow for the plan of self-centered ambition, too steep and rugged for lovers of ease to climb. Instead it best to expect hardship, patience, self-sacrifice, reproach, poverty, and much what Jesus experienced, .The companionship along the way is very precious and well worth it.Jesus has promised to be with those that travel this road and they are cheered much by His encouragement and the pleasures they know will be theirs at the journey's end .Those on this road are serious , cheerful and joyous about where they are going.
