Wow, great to see so many linux users on here! OpenSource is one of the coolest things happening in tech today.

I run whatever I have to, for instance XP and Xubuntu at work. At home, where I have a choice, I find Mac to be cleaner and less distracting, allowing me to just do what I want to do (be what I want to be, yeah!)

I run older machines, so my OSes are rather old - except that I run the latest version of CentOS (5.5)

I have the following systems:

Dell Precision 410 (2xPentium II/350MHz 192MB) Windows Server 2003 SP2 Enterprise Edition (domain controller)
COMPAQ Presario 5461 (AMD K6-3 475MHz 160MB) Windows 2000 Professional SP4 (workstation) used for EBCDIC/ASCII text editing
Dell Optiplex 170L (Pentium IV 2.4GHz) Windows XP Professional (workstation) general purpose use
Gateway GC-400 (Pentium II 400 MHz) CentOS 5.5 learning about Linux

In addition: I run the following emulations:

Hercules 3.07 with HercGUI and HercPrt emulation of an IBM System/370 Model 158 2MB DOS/VS POWER/VS Release 34 (1970s-era multitasking, multiprogramming, batch-oriented mainframe operating system) It has DOS/VS Assembler, COBOL-D, ANS COBOL, RPG and FORTRAN installed. (this is running on my domain controller)

SimH emulation of a Hewlett-Packard HP 2000 Access System on my Dell Optiplex 170L (some of you who attended high school in the mid-to-late 1970s might remember this time-sharing system - and those old slow, Teletype ASR 33s that were popular printing terminals back in those days)...

I run a mix. I run Linux kernel based systems as well as GNU Hurd, and UNIX.

Macintosh OS X Version 10.6.7
Finder Version 10.6.8

This is on my computer in my room ^^

Not a bad system. Bit pricey which is why I don't own one yet.

Just curious...

If you dual boot, please check all applicable boxes.

I'm running Windows XP Media Center and Linux Fedora 8 dual boot. Love Fedora! Def my favorite distro.

Way back when we used to own our first family computer it ran the archaic Windows 95 operating system which is very old and slow and only gives you the dial-up option (which was why I hated those computers). Nowadays we have better choices of operating systems, from this century (and not a operating system from the 1990s era). Currently on this machine I am running Windows XP. I have run everything from Windows Xp, to Mozilla Firefox, to Ubuntu, and every so often Christina (who is just another webmistress who gets on here) she may change my operating system if she thinks my computer is getting overloaded i trust her judgment, she has a degree in wed design and knows what she is doing.
