No one is implying that they haven't or don't read the King James. Have you considered that maybe someone will be given a better understanding of the message by reading a different translation.

Jesus said the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth. If we are seeking His guidance and following it each day, then all the other petty little issues seem to fall into a proper perspective.

The bible is God's witness, and a word he performs. If by God you realize even one word in a translation is misleading, you will avoid it, yes?

When publishers make interpretations for an easier read or other reasons, it affects those who walk by it, who need the truth of God for life. Nobody will lose their soul because of the translation they use, but they can lose riches in Christ.

As for the book "Which Bible Would Jesus Use", I think it would be typical of Jesus not to certify any of them, for the same reason he spoke in parables. He probably would leave it up to us know it by the Spirit of God. But the book has good reviews and looks like a good read. Thanks to the OP for bringing it forward.

That's exactly what almost everyone here is saying. Read the version(s) you want and discern what it says through the Holy Spirit. Do not trust the printed word without the Holy Spirit's guidance.

Nothing that you've said has "escaped my understanding". I fully understand what you are saying and I disagree with it. My shelf full of various translations, including the KJV, all carry the exact same authority. But none of them are an item of veneration or worship.

Muslims venerate their Koran because that's all they have of Mohammed. We have the Holy Spirit, a Living God, a Christ who will return, and an empty cross. The actual book is just a delivery system for the WORDS contained therein and the inspired words were translated in EVERY vulgar translation, including the KJV.

I hold the King Iames Version Revised , the 1921 printing and later , very good . But it's not a new translation by any stretch of anyones imagination . Several years ago I had seven versions on my E-Sword including the 1611 , 7/54 .

Seriously, I apologize if you answered this already: Which version of the King James Bible? Which date/edition/printing/translation specifically, and why is it and other KJV not?

Yeshua quoted the Tanahk when He repelled satan. Yhvh's Word has power. He doesn't give this power to the seven sons of sceva, so the demons easily overpower them and they run away naked (literally naked) and bleeding. Yhvh doesn't give His power to the unrightoues or to those not immersed in Yeshua and not abiding in His Name, and who have not the Word abiding in them. (i.e. a lot of people who think they are walking and reveling in Yhvh's Kingdom Power aren't, and since they won't listen here on earth while there is still time for them to, while it is "still daytime", they find out too late on judgment day when ..... well, read in the Bible to see; any version will do for this point as far as I've ever seen). kjv is obviously a good translation, yet still has serious errors. yet no one is able to point out the errors (in public arena, in religious circles, anywhere really) in a way that brings life to the listeners. or can they ? well. the listeners must be seeking the Creator for His Way and His Life. if someone is not seeking Truth, or if they're embedded in a system they have accepted that is not all Truth, they usually reject Truth. That's the way of mankind, the way of the flesh, the 'normal' response . (the way to life is narrow and through tribulation, few are there who find it; this is true in every language and nation - few find the road to life).... ....
