The same one he used before. The Tanakh.Have you read the new book "Which Bible Would Jesus Use"
The same one he used before. The Tanakh.
So none of you read the book ? OK
I trust the KJV, and read it only to avoid confusion.
He probably would leave it up to us know it by the Spirit of God.

The fact the translations differ is a problem, not just for the word but the spirit. A simple word like charity being changed to love can have implications on the truth.
The bible is God's witness, and a word he performs. If by God you realize even one word in a translation is misleading, you will avoid it, yes?
When publishers make interpretations for an easier read or other reasons, it affects those who walk by it, who need the truth of God for life. Nobody will lose their soul because of the translation they use, but they can lose riches in Christ.
As for the book "Which Bible Would Jesus Use", I think it would be typical of Jesus not to certify any of them, for the same reason he spoke in parables. He probably would leave it up to us know it by the Spirit of God. But the book has good reviews and looks like a good read. Thanks to the OP for bringing it forward.
Is the Jewish Tanakh any different from the Old Testament?
The same one he used before. The Tanakh.
Idolatry is insidious and clearly something that countless people have and will struggle with.
Even a "Holy Bible Christian" has elevated the bible to become an idol. We are Christians, which means followers of Christ.
Nothing that you've said has "escaped my understanding". I fully understand what you are saying and I disagree with it. My shelf full of various translations, including the KJV, all carry the exact same authority. But none of them are an item of veneration or worship.
Muslims venerate their Koran because that's all they have of Mohammed. We have the Holy Spirit, a Living God, a Christ who will return, and an empty cross. The actual book is just a delivery system for the WORDS contained therein and the inspired words were translated in EVERY vulgar translation, including the KJV.
John 7:46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
Except the pure language found in the Holy Bible (King James Bible) never was a vulgar language, every word is pure.
Thank you. But, quite a few here are also effectively debunking the KJV-Only idolatry too.
The KJV is written in English, which is the vulgar language of the English people (and Americans). The definition of vulgar that applies in this case is "characteristic of or belonging to the masses", which is EXACTLY why the bible was translated into English by Englishmen, including King James.
James did not set out to create the "perfect" and "pure" bible. He set out to create one that could be read by the common Englishman. You people that raise it up to be an idol have corrupted it more than any bad translation could ever accomplish.
Well, that the issue isn't?
So you say and so I say!
My witness as a Born Again Bible Believing Christian is that the King James Bible is the only word of God, it is the pure word of God, the pure language God promise. That is my testimony by the Holy Ghost!
