Which Bible version is the best translation?

When I left the church I grew up in, which was actually a Trinitarian sister church to the Mormons, which not only used the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants (modern day revelations to guide the church), but also used a version of the Bible that was doctored by Joseph Smith. It was incredibly hard to know which scriptures were real and which were altered by Joseph Smith without having two Bibles open on my desk at all times. With all that in mind, I chose the NASB to be sure I was closest to the original manuscripts as possible when I started trying to understand real Christian theology and beliefs. And still to this day when a scripture comes to mind I have to google it first to see where it comes from before I can use it in any discussion.

Thank you for sharing some of your experiences, I think each Bible translator has a different perspective of what they believe to be true, and that is reflected in their own translation. In my research I have noticed a difference, before Jesus walked on the Earth, all the Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek Lxx translations were translated by translators that believed in "One God-One Person" most every Bible translated into English Today is translated by a translator that believes in "One God-3 Persons", very few of the Bibles Today are translated by a translator that believes in "One God-One Person".

So for this very fact I have just explained I try to get a perspective on each scripture by as many Bibles as I can find in English, so I go on these three different websites studybible.info, biblehub.com and biblegateway.com. And I have found a handful of Bibles that are translated by translators that believe in "One God-One Person".

I now use an ESV, also, which has incredibly detailed footnotes, the footnotes for some verses sometimes pages long.

You might check this one out, it reflects a translation of the earliest Greek lxx manuscripts, the Septuagint, and it has many study notes.
