  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Where were the Christians In Germany during WWII?
Thursday, Sep 27th 2018

Chilling confessions of PoWs captured by the British have laid bare the brutality and excesses of ‘ordinary’ German soldiers in the Second World War.

A book of transcripts to be published in Germany next week reveals how the honour of its old army was lost amid the frenzy to be ‘perfect, pitiless Nazis’.

In the interrogation transcripts, the German soldiers speak of the ‘fun’ and ‘pure enjoyment’ of massacring innocent civilians and enemy troops.

I see that you have referenced the Daily Mail ,I Don't think a bastion of Truth .
I know English history and how they hide the Truth from others ,so to take their word only for the this is to distort the bigger picture of the Truth ,And Nothing much seems to change either .
You might have asked ,"where were the christians", when Indian tribes were being massacred ,when Irish were starved to death though out the 19th century century , and much more .It is a sin to be selective about mass murder , to deflect blame from the countries which rule the world and write the false history .
The Daily Mail is unashamedly pro English ,no matter what .

Good Christians were around, who do you think was hiding the Jews? You also had people like Bonhoeffer who gave up their life by publicly opposing the Nazis. If the question is how did the Nazis do what they did without remorse? People can be conditioned to do all sorts of horrible things, especially if it is under the guise of Nationalism or "the greater good". Also, if they are convinced certain people groups are lesser humans.

Where are Christians in the US during the most horrific genicide in history?

In his 33 min movie Ray Comfort reviews how a modern Christian nation like Germany could in just a few years be desensitized to genocide. He compares this to what is happening in the US today.

It all starts with labeling certain humans as not people, once you can convince people of that, you can do anything horrible.

The real Christians in WWII Germany was also perscuted like others by the national socialist party, read this link. The nazi party is not religious, and is anti Christian, just like most of the communist or socialist today. The pastors who held fast to christian values were fired, sentenced etc. It is similar to what the USSR or China did (most notably China, where the government tried to create a "chinese branch" of christianity that held the communist party, not Christ, as head of Church).

Of course we know people, we are all weak and in the face of perscution, most will abandon their faith (instead of facing prison/death) and go with what ever authorities requires of them.

But of course, we should not forget that Christianity was under heavy perscution during the early 1900 period, where most elites in Europe or Mexico thought Christians are stupid and backward. about Cresto war and the myters, some noteable ones as this and Migue. A few years ago when I learned those I was shocked, as to how the real Christians were persecuted yet still bear bad names for sins committed by others.

The problem with this sort of scenario is that we have to ask ourselves what we would have done had we been Christians caught up in Hitler's Germany. Right now there's an abortion holocaust taking place in our own societies, and what are most of us doing about that? And we know it's going on too.

We're in no position to judge Christians who were under a much greater threat than we are, from a cruel, ruthless, totalitarian regime where organised resistance was almost impossible

And once the war started, they became to all intents and purposes people defending their own country. We've often heard the phrase "The Germans obeyed orders!" as though they were unquestioning puppets. But all military personnel obey orders, whether it's to peel the spuds, or launch an ICBM to start World War III.

Having said all that, many years ago I met an older bloke at work who'd been a Australian bombardier in the Royal Air Force bombers that bombed German cities. He's probably dead by now (it was over 40 years ago), but he told me that sometimes they had to hose the remains of the rear gunners out of their gun bays, as the German fighter pilots used to concentrate on them.

His comment after witnessing the war from above? "I've got a lot of respect for Gerry!"

It may have been a brutal regime, but we'd be taking a somewhat one-sided view if all we concentrated on was the seeming lack of moral action by German Christians. When we've been there ourselves, then we'll be in a position to judge.

So I don't find these sorts of discussions very helpful.
