Online fellowship blesses me every day. Through it i am exhorted, edified, and filled with the Spirit that Gives me peace, joy, and love.

That's great! Who is against that? No one has argued against it, have they?

However, when you say it's a substitute for gathering with real people (not just rabbits) in you community, and submitting to the authority of the elders, which is given to them by God, you are wrong, and there are texts with explicitly and implicitly say so.

Let me save you a few posts because I've seen this many times before.

Objection: There are bad churches out there

Answer: If you know that they are bad, avoid them.

Objection: People in my last church were mean to me

Answer: Get over it. Forgive them, and start over.

Objection: Every church I go to is full of hypocrites.

Answer: News flash: Churches are full of sinners, and you (and I) are no better.

Im not against church, but i would say beware of teachers and getting sucked into the denominational mindset. I disagree on submitting to elders though. Only a child needs to submit to an elder. Peter said that elders should not lord over the flock, but should be examples for them. Back in the apostles day they were establishing the churches and its doctrine, and so they had to listen to the apostles. However i don't believe we have apostles anymore. We can read scripture for ourselves and so we need no Lord over us. We have one Lord who is lord over all.

The flock submits to the shepherd. That's how it works.

Is God among us as we gather online?
(Psalms 16:8) I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Depends on what broadband or internet service he is using in Heaven...
Wireless no doubt... Prayer is the best wireless communications protocol every designed.

Prayer is our way of connecting with God in all life’s circumstances. God is always listening. We can talk to Him any time throughout the day.

Psalms 34:15 — The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry.

God never sleeps and is always available to hear our prayer.

Yes. Because we're gathered together with our spirits. The Apostle Paul said the same in Colossians 2:5, "For though I'm absent from you in body, I'm present with you in spirit....". Lot of church goers are physically present but spiritually absent :).

Actually I still don't agree with the church analogy surrounding these verses from 18 on, Jesus has moved on from the theme of the person sinning against the other, from confronting him in person, then in church and is now making a statement that stands fully on it's own, IMO. If not it would all be one verse or surely one paragraph, but we see that these passages are all separate verses And mini paragraphs. Yes you can connect it backwards too but you don't have to, I contend that Jesus is fully saying what he says about two or three gathered in His name. Read it just from 18 on, he has moved from the theme of sinner against someone, also from the church and is making a statement that directs you to Whatever, each is it's own short paragraph and not only that but in verse 18 "Whatsoever" is capitalized. In verse 19 he starts right out saying "Again I say unto you". Obviously speaking about another time he has stated this. Now verse 20 starts again with an indent of the first word, another stand alone statement. And lets look at one other aspect to this, this is not Paul speaking to the Gentiles on Jesus' authority after the cross, as he typically did, but Jesus is speaking to the Jews before the cross:
Matthew 18:18-20King James Version (KJV)
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

you have to understand that the Word was written before there was Internet and that God is true. I'm not sure if online counts. I'm pretty sure its when in fellowship.
Jesus is inside all of us who are born again, He always knows what we are doing. Before the cross, no one was born again, there was not yet the mechanism. Jesus knows all of our hearts as we chat or gather or what ever you want to call it.

Speaking of which, for instance, why can I not call a gathering online for 4PM today with born again believers to work out an offense of one brother to another in the Name of The Lord ?. Say 4 people meet here online in a prayerful spirit. Would not Jesus be there too ? I mean after all, He is in each of us, He knows exactly what each of us is doing and saying every second of every day. See , before the cross they didn't have that indwelling Spirit. That's what I meant in my other statement of Jesus was speaking to the Jews in Matthew 18, before the cross happened.

Fellowship i believe is a little different that an online chatroom. He said "When 3 or more gather in my name.. surely i am among you" I can't speak for him

No but we can speak for ourselves and for what we understand to be true. They couldn't gather together online in those days. We can today. Forget the flesh, if it can get together wonderful, but all the better in the spirit, world wide. Really to God, for the born again believer the flesh is dead anyway unless Paul taught a false doctrine.
