Where to begin?

I'd like to be involved in the missions field but I don't know how to go about it. You need money for this kind of thing and I'm relatively poor. I'm tired of worrying about my own problems though and would like to spend my time helping others. Our time on this planet is short.

While money is important, the money doesn't always to come from you. Pray about it, contact various sources and friends and God will provide.
What is important is that you have the heart to do it. For example, we built a church, and all I had to do is pray about it to come to pass and communicate the message to various groups. It may take time, but if you press on it will come to pass.

Actually, I am not a preacher but a fellow christian. I am involved in a nonprofit that helps a poor village in Africa and that's through church friends that we were able to raise funds to build the church in Africa.
If you are planning to go to overseas, you might come up with a few fundraising ideas and start work on them.
