Where is Christ after He dies on Friday afternoon and before He rises on Easter Sunday? Both Scripture and Tradition answer this question. Consider the following excerpt from a secong century sermon as well as this meditation from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Today a great silence reigns on earth, a great silence and a great stillness...

Fun fact: Mel Gibson is planning on making a sequel to The Passion Of The Christ that deals (at least partly) with this very topic.

From Wikipedia:

In June 2016, it was announced that Mel Gibson is working on a sequel to The Passion of the Christ, focusing on the resurrection of Jesus. The screenwriter is Randall Wallace, who wrote the screenplay for Braveheart (1995). Gibson has expressed an interest in directing the film. He also said that the film will come out in a few years since it is a big project. In November 2016, Gibson confirmed that the title of the sequel would be The Resurrection of the Christ and implied that part of the movie would be taking place in Hell, stating that the film would explore what happened in the three-day period between the death of Jesus and his return. He also revealed that the film would probably be about three years away, because of its massive undertaking. In January 2018, Jim Caviezel confirmed that he will reprise his role as Jesus in the sequel.

I heard about that a couple of years ago and never heard anything about it again.

I would want to see it too. I'm still hoping they do a movie on C.S. Lewis' 'Screwtape Letters'. I kept hearing buzz about that being a possibility as well.
Yeah, who knows if the project will move forward. Here's to hoping it gets made because it sounds like it would be a good movie.
