I work at a Barnes & Noble. My anxiety makes it difficult for me to maintain a job, but it's a very relaxing and leisurely-paced environment that I actually thrive in it more so than stress out.
It is rewarding in a certain sense, and it will likely be even more so once I get the confidence to volunteer to read to children. It still comes with the ups and downs of any customer service job, but B&N clientele seem to be much easier to work with.
And, of course, the pacing is excellent. I worked for the last Black Friday, and seriously, it was no different than a regularly busy day. I guess books just aren't in high demand anymore.
