I investigate auto accidents.

I live in: Springfield, Illinois, ....I'm a social worker in a nursing home.

My mom lived in Springfield, IL until she was in high school.

I have a relative who is a social worker and manager at a nursing home. She loves it but hates the politics and some of the family members drive her crazy.

I live in Guernsey, Channel Islands....

I looked up where you live and the photos that are on the Internet are gorgeous! I am so jealous.

I assume you are a British citizen? Do you use the pound or the euro? How do you get to mainland Europe or Britain - do you fly or take a ferry?

Ya, man! Do you still have an accent?

*singing* How cool the rum is from a silver tray. I thirst to be thirsty in Monego Bay. *singing*
Depends on who I speak to.... and who's listening.

Some people say that I do. I don't think I do.

Yeah we are counted as British citizens. We use the pound and we also have our money (same value as the pound). Its acceptable to use both here but in the mainland UK Guernsey money is not accepted.

Its easier to fly to the UK. We are about 35 minutes flight from London. Its been many years since I have taken a boat anywhere other than one of the other islands because its very expensive (and I get very seasick). France is far closer to us but so much harder to get to so to get to mainland Europe its easier to fly on from London.

I'm a student at the Yakima Valley Community College (YVCC).
I Want to be a CGI artist...duno what I'd do...games, film, TV, design...personally I'm leaning more towards film making.

See, graphic
I'm not particularly proud of it though...the texture is so messed up right now I'm just trying to get it done! (I have a tendency to need to to finish things.)

I do CAD (computer-aided drafting). Not really artistic, more technical. I do a tiny bit of graphic design, just finished taking a few classes.

Do you like doing CAD? What classes are you taking? Are you learning Maya or Houdini or 3DSMax?

I did some CAD in HS with Rhino 3D (shudder).

I haven't heard of those. From what I understand, there are many CAD programs customized for a particular field. What I use is similar to Autocad, for manufacturing.

The graphic classes I took were for Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

That's neat! But personally, I didn't like CAD too much, too rigid. You might like Maya PLE (personal learning edition) it's free, it's 3D, plus, it really lets you unleash your creative side. That's why I like 3D, you can make whatever you want and since I'm really big on surrealism (not quite like Salvador Dolly though) being able to make whatever I want in 3D is really cool.

I also like to check out the gallery over at CGSociety for inspiration. Here, this pic was made with Maya & Zbrush (Zbrush is kinda like the "extra detail", software), Vulcan.

Me too! And I miss it a lot. Unless someone I know back home dies or something, I don't know if I'll ever go back. :(

I used to hang out in Bethesda all the time in college. My dad worked there so I'd intern for him over the summer and then hit the clubs or restaurant bars after work with my friends. I went back there after probably 15 years shortly before I moved and I could not believe how built up it had gotten.
