Remember the story of the dream about heaven and hell? In hell there was a banquet table loaded with food and everyone sitting around it had spoons so long that they couldn't get them to their mouths, and they fought and struggled in hunger. In heaven was the same thing, but they all used their long spoons to feed each other, so they were all happy.

Remember that story?

What does the story say about rugged individualism vs. social democracy?

Social democracy = integration into the world system

Joh_15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

How about these definitions.....

Rugged individualism: survival on one's own in spite of society's need for one's contribution
Social democracy: integration into a system of cooperation to meet everyone's need

"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
(Galatians 6:2)

"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."
(Hebrews 13:16)
