  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As admitted by the authors of the Koran, its collective contents are merely paraphrased and re-translated Biblical Hebrew and Greek scripture that has been repackaged for Islamic consumption.

Knowing this, why would anyone want to follow a convoluted copy when the true word of God, (i.e. the Holy Bible), is available?

The authors of the Koran never once state that their opus was divinely inspired. Not once out of thousands of ayahs….not once out of 114 suras.

However, they repeatedly state the Holy Bible to be divinely inspired.

If you want the complete picture you must refer to the source of the Koran, the Holy Bible.

Btw….the term “Muhammad” never appears in the Arabic of your sig…

Use common sense, whatever you are preaching it simply raps down to this....

"You should be ashamed of not following the teachings of Islam and Qur'aan"

Muslims are the ones who should be ashamed, as they blatantly deny the original classic Arabic message of their book of faith and abrogate its text (such as inserting their “prophets” name where it never ever was) all in the name of following the Islamic machine.

When are you going to start listening to what your book of faith is telling you rather than islam?

Unfortunately for you, most Muslims actually learn Arabic and know what these verses mean, so your deliberate mistranslations don't have much effect.

I know a really good Islamic forum, but it is in Arabic.

Since you claim to know Arabic oh so well, why don't you go there? I am sure they would *love* to talk to you. AND, it would be in Arabic, not in English.

I'm sure you would be willing to join, right? I mean, after all, someone linked you to this site and you joined.

But there was a case of a European teacher who named a teddy bear "Muhammad" in class so that the kids would be able to relate to it. She was jailed and would have been whipped if not for an international outcry. Many Muslims wanted her killed.

I find this appalling.

Not anymore appalling than some of the stuff that goes on in the OT.

Nor, indeed, more appalling than stuff that's gone on in Northern Ireland for the last century. The only reason Christians come off as better is because they prefer to brutally repress other Christians :(

But what has this actually got to do with this thread?

You are leaving me with no choice...

I am talking to you and if you want to personally tell me anything you are most welcome but I humbly advice you not to bring my Prophets name in middle of our conversation.

Let me ask you once again...

Can you confirm you have used common sense before answering my question?

Hi Bookofknowledge,

I'm sure everyone wants to show the greatest respect to Islam. It's the right thing to do. Hence, that teacher was careful not to name the teddy bear "Allah" because that would be blasphemous to Muslims. But the fact is to any Westerner, "Muhammad" is a common name used on many Muslim boys. I did a google and I found that the world's legendary boxer was called Muhammad Ali. He was a boxer, not even a Muslim cleric. Nobody accused him or any of those millions of Muslim males named Muhammad of blasphemy. Why then was the European teacher who called a teddy bear "Muhammad" thrown into jail and threatened with lashes of the whip and the people wanted her dead? If she had called the teddy bear Theodore, the Middle Eastern kids she was teaching wouldn't be able to relate to her. She picked a common Muslim name that would be more familiar to them and this is what they did to her. She was a good teacher whose goal was to help Middle Eastern kids have a good standard of education in a Middle Eastern cultural context. Of course, when she was finally released to her home country (nobility from my country also helped the negotiations), she said she never wanted to see another Arab nation again.

The question in a typical Western mind is: What on earth is the agenda of Muslims in general towards even people who are minded to help Middle Eastern children in the field of education? If they don't want outside help at all, they should make it clear. But the Middle Eastern countries do want teachers from Europe, particularly from my country very much. Their kings even send their kids to my school and other similar schools in my country. What then is their agenda? Why do they send conflicting signals?

I ask this question of you because you immediately assumed that applepie7 meant your prophet. But he didn't say Prophet Muhammad. The name Muhammad alone is a common Muslim name. Even a famous boxer in google was called that. So it appears that in that case, the people must have felt that naming the teddy bear "Muhammad" immediately referred to the prophet when the teacher had no such meaning. If the name alone is sacred, it should not be used so freely on almost all boys. Imagine if another boxer who's fighting Muhammad Ali tells the Press, "I'm going to smash Muhammad. I'm going to grind his bones to powder with my fist. I'll kill Muhammad!!! Muhammad is gone!!!" Won't thousands of Muslims cry for his blood even though he was evidently talking about Muhammad Ali? What if a father who has named his son "Muhammad" gets angry with the son and tells his wife, "Give Muhammad a slap!" Will the father be punished for this?

Really, what is the agenda?
