I've tried the Nanowrimo a few years. The results were interesting. I have mixed feelings about it.
I prefer quality over quantity but some of what I wrote I feel could be used as reference to the main book I've been writing/creating for 15 years with a friend. The quality of my latest attempt was okay I think. I let my friend read it and at least some of it made her laugh. But I don't think I would ever publish it.

I get that. Although I would recommend anyone interested in writing try NaNoWriMo at least once, it doesn't work of everyone.

One of the things you need to do while taking part is accept that you're going to write a lot of rubbish - I have actually cringed while writing some sentences because I knew they were bad. So you really need to treat the whole thing as a way of getting out a first draft, not a finished article.

Where do I see myself in 5 years? A little older, and maybe a little wiser. I'd be thrilled to find myself married by then, but who knows? Although my locus of control is internal, marriage takes two and we have to be a good fit for each other. I can only control my own actions, and speak for my own hopes and dreams.

In the meantime, I've already "settled down" in a way, with a house in the suburbs and some of the trappings of married life. That helps keep me sane and focused on the positive.

my answer tonight is different than it would have been last night, and different again from the night before that. I have no idea what it will be by tomorrow, but I wish I could have stopped time 2 days ago. I don't like the time i'm in right now.

Hopefully serving Christ on a bigger scale. Friends that I can actually hang out with and stuff would be good...hopefully either with an education behind me or have a good career on the go - but if that's not in the cards for me then I'll take whatever.

I hope I'm happy though.

A guy I know at work wasn't in this week so I asked his boss where he was. She told me that he found out last Thursday that he had a brain tumor after months of unexplained headaches. Went in for surgery on Saturday.

They told him that he has three to eighteen months to live. Guy has five kids. He said he's going home to hug his kids as much as possible and work on his bucket list.

My five year plan now sucks...

God be with him :(
When I think about all the things I'd like to do and achieve it's more so "establishing goals" and aspirations rather than a set plan. If course the reality is that only God knows where we'll be. If the world even still exists by then

no.
unbeknownst to me I've been caught smack in the middle of a marital dispute. the wife has seriously gone bonkers with threats and extortion, the husband is in the middle of contract negotiations and is out of town, and all communication is now shut down.
and I never suspected a blessed thing, much less all of this. May God and St. Michael help all 3 of us. This is a tangle way beyond my ability to solve.

Your wife? I'm sorry to hear that! Praying for clarity in the midst of confusion

2023.... yeah, I don't see myself doing anything different in 5 years from now. I'll be pushing 40 years old though so I may start to really get nauseous at that thought
What's wrong with being 40yrs old?

I've got silver hairs at 33. Nothing wrong with the age, but the stigma with having been single my whole life and reaching that bothers me a bit. I know it'll happen. Just sucks being the one in my family and amongst friends (though most of those friends understand why) so no harm there.

Such a unpleasant Image being painted...
How about handing The LORD the Brush for a while and having him paint what he wants?
I can assure you,
it'll be the one of the best choices you've ever made.

I have the feeling he is the one painting the picture that I am not meant for what I want. I keep getting those messages. I work so much though that I rarely even think about it. Only during down times like Christmas time do I even have time to really think about it. My business is about to kick into high gear so it'll once again be an afterthought until next winter.
