Sorry, but I take the acts of God recorded in Genesis pretty seriously.

So did Jesus.

Notice here, where He quotes from Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 as authoritative Scripture.

Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

(Genesis 1:27)

Matthew 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

(Genesis 2:24)

I'll have to reply to this one because if you do a double quote in a post, I just end up replying to an empty post.

And I'll keep at this until you answer it. So again:

Answer the question put to you:
And is the faith of not believing in a literal Genesis greater, lesser or equal to believing in a literal Genesis?

And even with addressing your claim, why is then that all the major Christian denominations do not adhere to a literal reading of the Bible, especially Catholicism?
You'll have better time asking one of your friends to ask me that, verbatim, because I'm not seeing the proper conduct necessary for discourse...

If you were trying to talk to Jews about matters of faith, would you quote from the Book of Mormon or a book they already know?

Being rather unimaginative, here.
Going back to what Warden said...

Apparently it is too much of a leap in imagination, to think, that God can perfectly create the world in six days and have it seen as if it has been created over six millennia, six million years, six galactic years, or what have you.
How would you and I know?
There's our imagination. And than there's what the Earth, as Created by God, is actually showing us.

You appear not to lnow what the words assumption, fact, or evidence mean.

Other than academia's "faith is believing something you know ain't so" spiel, do YOU know what faith is?

Since I believe that God would not willingly deceive us by having written a book that says one thing, then creating a world that shows an entirely different thing,

Those "entirely different things" change with the weather.

So even if God did describe His creation down to the molecular level, academia would accuse Him of being deceptive.

God: Earth circles the sun.
Early Academia: Why would God say Earth circles the sun? The sun clearly circles the earth? Therefore, Genesis is a myth.

the funny thing is, academia didn't come around to the concept of 'molecules' until, about, what, the renaissance?

No educated person believes the genesis flood account is literal.

Would you know one, if he did?

Does your buddy that said, "If all evidence pointed to evolution, I would still be a YEC"* come to mind?

* I don't remember who said that.

I would have never argued for literalist readings on this topic nor did I think they had any bearing on my salivation.

Interesting typo there.

Faux pas?

I make spelling mistakes all the time, so I didn't point it out. /shrug
My personal flaw is hypocrisy, I am sorry to say. Something I make active efforts to fix.

The sheer amount of vested interest pitted against literallism is rather poignant, is what I am saying.
You greatly overestimate the Importance of your
chosen view.

Sure there’s vested interest in the nature of reality.
Geology for one has huge economic importance.
We in China have a huge interest in what is real,
rational, evidenced, and works.

Most in China, Japan, and Korea * don’t even know
there’s some sect of a foreign religion that thinks
their god made everything in six days, and they- we-
certainly dont care.

All our science, pitted against your personally chosen beliefs?
Surely, you’re joking!

* check our student achievement levels compared to
that of American students.
