I have a choice...
I can move to Colorado in 2 months...or I can move California. The truth is, I can move anywhere, but all I know is that I'm moving...
Why Colorado or California? I have good friends in both places...
I visited Colorado a couple weeks ago and stayed with my friend, went to his church and hung out with his youth group. Seems like it would be a great place to live and go to school.
California - Never been there, but I want to hang out with my friends and maybe get into the Art school in San Fran.
All I want to know is...where does God want me to go!? And why wont he tell me!? I've prayed about this! No answer! OR maybe he did answer and I'm not listening! What do I do!? :sigh:

You may relax. Trust in the common sense and wisdom God has granted you. Make the best choice of the options available.

The Bible encourages believers to pursue certain values and attitudes, and to avoid others. Beyond these regulations, choices may be freely made.

God does not micro-manage the life-paths of each believer, but like our earthly fathers do, He expects His children to mature and to learn to make wise decisions for themselves.

You need not put extra burdens on yourself.

You seek the will of God. That is great. But despite current ideas, God does not have a "perfectly-tailored-just-for-you-and-you-have-to-figure-it-out" will. Or more simply, an individual will. There is nothing in the Bible to support this view, however.

The teaching of Scripture on this kind of thing may be summarized thusly:

1. In those areas specifically addressed by the Bible, the revealed commands of God (His moral will, e.g., 10 Commandments) are to be obeyed.

2. In those areas where the Bible gives no command or principle (nonmoral decisions like where to move), the believer is free and responsible to choose his own course of action. Any decision made within the moral will of God is acceptable to God.

3. In nonmoral decisions (like where one should move), the objective of the Christian is to make wise decisions on the basis of spiritual expediency. In other words, your aim is to glorify and please God. Put simply, it means what works best to get the job done - within God's moral will, of course.

4. In all decisions, the believer should humbly submit, in advance, to the outworking of God's sovereign will as it touches each decision. By sovereign will, I mean God's secret plan that determines everything that happens in the universe.

I hope that this makes sense. And I also hope that this is helpful to you. What it boils down to is that you have the freedom to choose as long as you don't disobey God's moral will (e.g. His commandments and such as laid out in the Bible).

Do your homework and praying, and you will figure it out. :holy:

Even if you make the wrong choice, God can make it right. The Bible says a man can make his own plans, but God directs his steps. You see, God is before you and behind you to guide and direct your life. If you are unsure, you can wait more until a door seems to open either way, but if you have a preference that fits into God's already revealed will, go for it and He will correct your path and take care of detail, as He will give you the desires of your heart if you delight in Him.

Pro 16:9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Psalms 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

Pray and wait for answers. I've been in the same situation many times. I was born and raised in Korea, and after graduating high school, I had three choices that weighed heavily on my mind.

One was to join the Air Force; two, stay in Korea, teach English and go to college on the military base; three, move to the U.S. and go to college there. I can't say that I was too happy with my choice (number three), but God worked it all out for good. I wouldn't trade any of it. There were dramatic instances mixed in with some great times!

It may seem like God isn't listening, but just wait. He does everything in His time and there is no time more perfect.

I would pray for the Lord to give you an answer as to what His perfect will is. Sometimes if the answer doesn't come directly it will come by indirect means: that is, god will send someone or place a message before you that you will recognize as an answer. secondly, God usually will confirm this by more than one way. You have to be willing to look for the answers, while at the same time being careful that people who know you are looking don't give you answers that are only from their opinion. I pray God give you the guidance you seek....

I would use your God-given mind to decide the choice to make. Sometimes it's equally good, so follow your heart. God gives us the desires of our heart, so he will give you desires that are in line with his will. The bible also says that "the heart is above all deceitfull" as well, so you need to keep a balance.

You need to pray that God will "order your steps" Psalms 37:23 but note that the promise is conditional. Think about not just your education but your spiritual health as well. Don't choose to go into a situation that could make you backslide unless you are *sure* that God is directing you there. If you are really stuck, go with your best, sanctified, thought you have and know that God doesn't tell us because he sometimes just wants us to choose, and he will bless it.
