John is writing out a story...they sat. He expects us to realize that this group was already
seen prior to 20 verse 4. Just as in chapter 4 where he says he saw four beasts...later says
they.

Who "sat"?

Because it is the second vision of that night
during that chapter. It is not the four great beasts
vision that ended with verse 6.like a ...lion...bear...leopard...
beast....then verse 7 with the start of the second vision.
if you're making a point, i'm not following.

can you elaborate?

The question is not - do they know the exact day and hour - the question is the "sequence of events" and at what "event" does the resurrection happen.

It happens at the 2nd coming - as 1Thess 4 and Rev 20:1-5 and John 14:1-4 all state.

Indeed the resurrection of the saints - happens at the 2nd coming.

When everyone is dead.

Except Paul wrote that some would be alive at the second coming and that the resurrection of the dead happened before the living were changed and raptured.

i've already posted a thread on the resurrection and now i think another element of the resurrection needs to be discussed.

when does the resurrection of the just and unjust take place?

On the last day: John 6:39-40

Specifically: John 7:37

Shmini Atzeret, spiritually past and future. John 5:25

Revelation 20 came to mind when I posted.

Revise scripture?

What about this?

Rev 20:4-5 and 1 Thess 4 both point to the fact that the "dead in Christ rise first" --

In Rev 20:4-5 that happens at the first resurrection - and it starts the 1000 year millennium that starts-with/follows the Rev 19 second coming event.
In 1Thess 4 this is also what happens - the saints are raised first - and are taken to heaven.

After the 1000 years - the wicked are raised according to Rev 20.

So then John 14 "In my Father's house -many mansions... I go to prepare a place for you ..I will come again and receive you to myself" -- the 2nd coming is predicted.

1 Thess 4 "the Dead in Christ shall rise first "

Rev 20:4-15 "the FIRST resurrection" is the resurrection of the saints. -- the Dead in Christ.
