I'll argue cosmology, but it's relatively pointless (they're theories are, to put it mildly, ridiculous). Time dilation caused by being near the surface of a black hole makes the earth 6000 years old, but the universe 13 billion, and the black hole also slowed down light, so the light looks old from our perspective too . That's YEC cosmology.

Intelligent design.

I believe that the earth and universe were created by God, as well as every species of animal. I do not believe that one species came from another. I also believe that the universe is probably very old. Intelligent design is what the YEC's and I have in common. By arguing for intelligent design, both parties have something to be united to, especially in the face of an anti-christian world that sees our divisions and scoffs at us.

Cosmology and radioactive isotope dating are two areas that my physics background has prepared me to discuss, although cosmology debates don't seem to last long. I also picked up a lot about abiogenisis and evolution through reading these debates and have learned a lot more recently because of the biology class I am currently taking.

I don't really want to debate. The thing that interests me the most is everything LOL. I usually wonder this : if the formation of the universe was a mistake, then howcome our planet is the only one with water and oxygen? If we were any closer the sun we would fry, if we were any further away, we would freeze...that is no mistake. And also, the big bang theory, and evolution....there is no way that feathers could have evolved from scales...and humans evolved from apes. ANyways...I'm going to stop talking before I get attacked.

We've only looked at 9 planets. There is a big universe out there. Don't jump to hasty conclusions.

I believe Darwin's theory on evolution and he was christian. I found out that they wouldn't let him in church and that he still prayed to god even after. does this make him a bad person?
Where did you hear this? Darwin remained a member in good standing of the Anglican Church for his entire life. He is buried in Westminster Abbey. His longest friendship was with the pastor of the Down (town where Darwin lifed) church -- Brodie Innes.

Not attacked. But some information for you.

2. RO Prum and AH Brush, Which came first, the feather or the bird? Scientific American, 84-93, March 2003.

This one will walk you thru the details of converting a scale to a feather.

4. Zou H, Niswander L , Requirement for BMP signaling in interdigital apoptosisand scale formation. Science 1996 May 3;272(5262):738-41 "Expression of dnBMPR in chicken embryonic hind limbs greatly reduced interdigital apoptosis and resulted in webbed feet. In addition, scales were transformed into feathers."

Let me try to cut thru the technical jargon for you. BMPR stands for "bone morphogenetic protein receptor" and is a protein on the surface of cells that binds the protein bone morphogenetic protein. BMP (for short) determines what kind of cell -- bone cell, kidney cell, etc. -- a cell is going to be. dnBMPR means that they have blocked the BMP receptor. When that is done, the scales on the legs (yes, birds do retain some scales) turn into feathers. Cool, huh?
