Music Match. Bought it a few years ago, and haven't looked back. Win Amp is pretty good, so is Audacity.

Winamp v2.81 ('cause it's better looking than 2.9x, lol)

I don't need video-playing capability on it (a la Winamp 5, maybe 3 had it also, but I can't remember), and Winamp 3 was just a pain to manage when I tried it out. Windows Media Player 6.5 and Media Player Classic are more than enough for handling the videos I watch. And many of the important plugin updates (like for AAC/MP4/M4A/M4P or Vorbis) coming out now are compatible with Winamp 2 since so many people have stuck with it.

I've been using MusicMatch for close to 7 years now, and there have been some buggy versions along the way...I'm quite pleased with it and the current version.

real one is the worst music player i have on my system. all of those popup notifications on the toolbar and all of the "switch to premium" bs just turn me off.

i guess they need the extra money after losing 24million dollars last year and a couple million in the past 3 weeks.

I have it installed, but I went in and disabled the Startcenter (or was it smartcenter, lol).....and now it only opens when it's needed and I don't get the pop ups with NIS because I have it set to block the popups from it.....

I'm actually out on this one... I would think WinAmp 5 - I love the interface and Media Library, but Windows Media Player has come along nicely. If they could just get rid of those visualisations...
