That makes me very easy to spot in my parish (Ukrainian), and in the Greek Orthodox parish I sometimes go to.

My husband is Swedish-American and to me, an Irish woman, his accent is just too silly....I laugh every time he opens his mouth...he doesn't think he has an accent. I tell him he must have been meant for "Lutheran" baptism but hisparents missed the church... I hope he'll post here someday...you would like him!!!
My mom is a geneology nut, but my dad can't name one of his great grandparents or any relative beyond first cousins that lived in his town. Basically if he doesn't know them personally, he doesn't care to know anything about them. I asked him about this when I was a kid because the family tree I did for school looked so ridiculously lop-sided, and he said "I'm embarassed enough by the relatives I know, why should I go look for more?" It's really hard to argue with himcountrymousenc said:I'm adopted, and neither my mom's family nor my dad's mom's family kept up with geneological information. Best guess would be (because they were all farmers in the NC foothills) Scots-Irish.
