Numerology hurts my brain!
Its like the whole 11:11 theory.

I have a cool thing about numbers in the bible.
very middle chapter and verse is psalm 118:8
before that there are 594 pages,
after that there are 594 pages.

594 + 594 = 1188

devils number - 666 . 6 x 3 = 18

oh man i could go on.

numbers hurt my brain.

I read a lot of comments from different people on this topic. I have to wholeheartedly agree with the third watch bit. I understand that a lot of people will dismiss waking up at 3am as just waking up at 3am and having a short night, but I believe it to be more than that. What I was most amazed at is that some of the comments said that people who woke up at three am were usually depressed. I would have to disagree.

Let me explain something about the night watches for those who don't understand what they're all about. Our western minds don't understand the ways of the Hebrew or Jewish culture. We can read the Bible and get only a glimpse. In the Bible, people were just used to such things as night watches. They're a lot different now than they used to be. But all things have a way of changing over time. Everything does except the Word of God. I believe that because the night watches were and are a normal and expected part of the Jewish culture and religious belief, it would not be difficult for Jews to wake up at 3am. I do not believe that depression would result from this.

For us Americans, its a different ball all together. We love our sleep and if anything interrupts it, we get upset and grumpy. I do believe that God does indeed have something to tell us. I am not Jew by any stretch, but I am grafted in through Jesus. God has given me a soft spot for the Jews and He has been having me learn about the Jewish ways and customs for some time now. While I may not practice or observe their ways, I do believe that God has a message to share by learning their ways.

So, what's up with 3 am? I believe that anytime I am woken up during the night, it is usually time to pray for something or someone.

Thank you for your replies so far, I really appreciate it. The reason I ask is at slightly before 3am this morning I woke up and saw what seemed to be a black creature walking on all fours (it could also walk on two). It seemed to climb on the bed then on top of me then I couldn't breathe. i started to call out the name of Jesus and it was as if it was trying to close my mouth but I perservered and Spoke the name of Jesus and scripture over and over. I was ok after that (I wasn't scared because God told me ages ago not to fear any evil). But after then I heard almost a voice gentle, but firm, saying "take note of the time". I ignored the first time becuase I was tired and when I couldn't breathe the oxygen supply was limited to the brain so I had a bit of a headache, then I heard it again firm but gentle "take note of the time". It was 3am. I went to sleep, but first thing when I woke up I remembered, so thats why I ask. God Bless.

You had a night terror, or a satanic attack. I've had those, but never one as severe as the one you've described. I have to admit those are terrifying. I wake up a lot in the middle of the night, sometimes around 3 am. I pray. Always invoke the name of Jesus, though it can be hard because sometimes in my experience, I've not been able to speak. They are truly terrifying. I don't know why I have them.

Hello everyone, just a quick question: Is there anything significant in the spirit world about the time 3am? thank you

Yes, there is significant time in the spirit world in the early morning. I don't know where to find the reference but being up early to be in prayer is advantageous. There is a certain hour of the early morning that is without demonic influences and the Holy Spirit moves greatly to those seeking.

By my understanding, it is basically the changing of the guards between different spirits let out of hell to influence the world of the living. Different principalities rule over night and day time influences. This is equated by the sun god worship verses the moon goddess worship in the biblical paganism of the pagan nations. The sun rules the day as the 'greater light' while the moon rules the night as the 'lesser light'. There is a pre-dawn hour when they rotate. I don't know if it is 3am or 4am or maybe between 3-4am.

I personally find it the most peaceful time around 4am.

This may have been right at the end of the cycle before the changing of the guards. IMO it was a last ditch effort to cause problems before the demonic forces had to return to hell. So call it the darkest hour before the dawn so to speak.

When I was in NAM, 3 AM was the best time of the day to attack the enemy. Most solders were asleep in deep RAM and hardest time to awake. Also, that is about the time that guards would fall asleep. We would not announce our attack. Many times we like David were able to walk up to many enemies and take their weapons and kill them silently with our knives.

Personally I would just pray for uninterrupted sleep.

I don't have that luxury. I am also in charge of neighborhood watch. We have cameras throughout the neighborhood and that is the time frame I catch bad guys on camera and direct the police to where those people are hiding.

It is one of the watches of the night - a time for intercession. Jesus died at 3 p.m., and the trinity is "3" and "3" is certainly a significant number all through the Bible - 3 nights in the tomb for Jesus, 3 nights in the belly of the fish for Jonah, 3.5 years of the first half and second half of tribulation (total 7), 3 times Peter received a vision, 3 times he denied Christ, 3 times he reaffirmed his love for Christ, and the list goes on, so when you see the number 3 consistently, take notice that God is speaking.

Also, the USA will be 233 years old in a few days, which could be significant.
Which church do you belong too I find your view interesting

The Body of Christ, the saints of God, the heavenly Jerusalem... we are the church, and we belong to Christ.

Not sure what that means? Lol. Do you mean these views are your own not a churches?

You asked what church I belong to. There is only one. It is the body of Christ, i.e. those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and as Savior of their lives ARE the church. A building is not the church. A church denomination is not the church. An organization of human-making and a business (corporation) under the federal government is not the church. We who believe in Jesus ARE the church, and WE all belong to Christ.

As far as the views I expressed about the 3 o'clock hour, those were biblical. They came through my own biblical research. God used particular numbers over and over again in history and in scripture to signify something important. Numbers have meaning, in other words. I also did some outside research on the subject of numbers in the Bible and their meaning.

I also am a person who notices numbers, sequences and patterns. So, when I see a number being repeated over and over again, it jumps out at me like a neon light. So, I did a search in my Bible on the number 3 and looked at how it was used, and from that you have what I shared maybe a couple of years now? I don't see the date on the quote, but it has probably been a few years since I wrote that. I do believe the Lord Jesus gave me insight into the subject, as well.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion on this one. But it is only opinion.

The Bible does not say, 'when you see the number 3 consistently, take notice that God is speaking.'
It is one of the watches of the night - a time for intercession. None of these claims is backed by gods word. Numerology is a form of divination which Christians should not mess around with. One member even used the occult as a form of information on this forum. Occultists also use numerology.

Well this is how WICCA uses numerology in there occultic practice.
Numerology is a divination tool that works with numbers. Each number, from 1 to 9, has a particular meaning or energy.

You use the numbers relating to your birth date and your name to determine which numbers have particular relevance to you.

Numerological divination can be used to determine your Life Path, your lucky numbers, your major life challenges, and much more. Along the lines of astrology, it points out major forces that you came into this life with.

It's interesting to note that early mathematicians, like Pythagoras, frequently practiced numerology! I believe that one should not use the bible to look for any codes as a way to conduct ones life or predict the future.
Here is what the bible says about divination.
Deuteronomy 18:10: “There shall not be found among you . . . anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens.” First Samuel 15:23 compares rebellion to the “sin of divination.”

Why would god give us hidden codes that must be figured out to interpret any type of omen. Gods word alone is enough to steer us in the right direction.
