Ah here in (not so sunny) South Carolina in the southeastern USA the weather is well, odd, in a word. I won't complain, as it is cooler than normal for this time of year but slowly creeping up to the usual. Has been VERY wet, rain for 3 weeks and I think only 5 days of no rain of that 3 weeks. The bad thing is that I work shift work and it will be raining in the morning, so that limits the barn/yard/pasture work I can do before going to work, then it storms. Other half doesn't get home until 5pm to 7pm depending on his day so here I sit often times, the sun has come back out, and of course that means heating of the air and ground, so the next afternoon round of showers are bad. Thunder, lightning and of course I can't help but to be concerned for the pups at home. When I am home wiht them and it storms I make no big deal of it, so that they don't get into the habit of taking storms too seriously. However I do worry, is it bad? Is the power going to go out? etc.
Well enough rambling for now, thank you for this post. Take care and God Bless all !

wonderful angelwind  PTL!
It was, I almost couldn't believe it...some people were killed by the lightning I read later. We did get a lot of lightning.

This weekend has been cool...very pleasant...June gloom it is called. Better than hot & smoggy.

Well I got the small gate to the back garden constructed today
The clouds have been around all day and have a wet portent
Mary has gone to buy some hinges, and I may have the opportunity
to hang the gate today, also

Next... I will knock up the door frame and studding
for the 'side' of the house... I have obtained some T&G cladding
with-which, I will make the door and recreate the side entrance

The present one is falling-down rotten
and has needed replacement since I arrived here
although it has, only in recent weeks, become, unuseable
and has been blocked-off
to prevent Teddy going walkabout in the locality
Animals have no road-sense at-all

sunny and hot here, supposed to be up to 95 degrees or so today.

about 18.C here with a slight 'occasional' breeze
plenty of dark-cloud... threatening precipitation
but it could possibly blow-away without drenching us

After having a beautiful warm and sunny week last week, the weather's turned chilly and showery :(. June's supposed to be nice! Still got dreadfully itchy eyes from hayfever, though I've now bought some drops to alleviate it - only thing is you have to chuck it away after 4 weeks..bit expensive if you end up not using it all. Woke up the other morning with my eye all puffy and stuck together. Never mind, I'd prefer summer with hayfever than no summer at all..only my hayfever started in March or April.....sorry, moaning again...moan, moan, moan :sorry:

Still, had a really nice day yesterday...lunch at my friends, duck in orange sauce, followed by strawberries and icecream. Then playing in our little music group at a church do, to do with providing wheelchairs and things for kids in Africa. They've had to make different types of specially modified wheelchairs (some made from bicycle wheels, pedals and chains, so the kids can get over the barren and stony terrain, as there aren't proper roads or paths). Then back to my friend's, went for a quick walk, did a bit of sketching, only it was too cold to sit around long, then had salmon salad, and we watched some good programmes on tv. Only I felt really tired and had to cycle 3 miles or so with lots of STEEP HILLS going up - didnt get back 'til about one in the morning (moanmoammoan again :() Don't think I normally moan QUITE so much, just have always got a lot of problems on my mind..no jobs, kids feeling down, Mum to go for triple bypass op and replacement heart-valve soon etc etc...AND we prob won't be able to go on holiday this year, short of a miracle
..AND...AND..AND.
I know to lots of people my life would be bliss compared with theirs..I really must CHEER UP, look on the bright side.
Sorry, just letting off a bit of steam - I must be felling UNDER THE WEATHER (seeing this is reallya weather thread). I always feel 50 times better when the sun's out.
Perhaps I'd better go and look at the Daily Cheer thread.

My apologies for rambling on and on...

The Inland area is going to get soggy soon, according to the National Weather Service.
"Through 8 a.m., light rain showers will move northeast across the coastal waters and inland over Orange County, the Inland Empire and the San Bernardino Mountains," forecasters say. "Rainfall amounts are expected to be very light, ranging from a trace to a few hundredths of an inch."
But that is likely to change.
"More widespread rain showers are expected later this morning, and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon as a low pressure system moves onshore."
The good news: The risk of flash flooding is low in the mountains and deserts.
