Bright sunshine today, but chilly enough
to have us needing coats on, when going outside

More leaves have fallen.... in a few weeks, many trees around here will be bare
Everything, has it's season

Clear but cool. Right now it's 52F, settling to 36F tonight.

A night of sleeping in the van is forecast for tonight, a pickup in Eastern Lower Michigan tomorrow morning to come back here double-time tomorrow, so I take my time and sleep at rest-stops going there. Lower Michigan looks clear, so at least that will be going for me.

Britain is set for Hurricane Force winds [@ 80+ mph]
until @ 6.00am later [another 5 hours]

Flood warnings are up
and over 150 flood alerts for various areas are in force

It seems as though it may well cross Britain and move into the North Sea
BEFORE it gets far enough northwards .. to affect Sue in Cheshire
and us here [just north of Manchester]

I will be getting 'off' [to bed] shortly

Let us pray that damage and injury is minimal... since
warnings have been issued in good time [on this occasion]

Hoping that Grace's computer problems, are quickly resolved

'4 dead' I believe I heard Bro' Tom

Up here in the northwest, we had weather more typical for our area
[ie: showers and blustery winds]

But there was some trees down and property damage
and 20+ thousands without electricity in the South-west
Still awaiting to hear, a summing-up [appraisal]

Altogether, nothing like as much of a catastrophe as we have seen occur in the USA
however, for our 'small' island of only @10.6 million 'substantial enough'
:prayer: for families, ~those, that lost loved ones

I read that this one was the worst you've had in a while. Seems the big storms don't fare well that far North, but occasionally one does blow up.

Here in the Northern Illinois area, we're setting up for "Indian Summer". Having had our first good frost of the season, we have one last warm spell before late Fall-- early Winter sets up shop for the duration. Highs in the 60s and lows in the 50s are expected this week, but it will be rainy and windy. We don't get cold again until the end of the coming weekend.

Right now, 42F, going to a high in the mid 50s F under cloudy skies.

Yes, apparently it has been many years since the last one

First off, there was the 14 years old lad, who was snatched by the sea
and dragged offshore while playing on the beach in Surrey [SE Rngland] so sad!
Air-Sea Rescue helicopter, and the local lifeboat, failed to find him

The storm tracked much further south than expected
leaving areas above the Midlands, to 'enjoy' much milder rains and winds

A guy was killed in his car [falling tree] ...
I haven't heard about the other two ~the details probably, limited to, local news stations
and National News mentioned the "Four dead"

We have 7.C here and light showers [presently] here, in "Umbrella City"

Hi Dave,

I haven't been online for a few days so I've only just seen your post. Although I knew we wouldn't get the full force of the storm here in the NW, I thought it would be blustery, and took down the hanging basket and bunched all the pot plants together in a sheltered spot. But thankfully there was no trace of it - a beautiful day here! My relatives in Warwickshire weren't affected either. How about yours in Bristol?

It's really sad about the four who died. (I think the other two were due to a gas explosion as the result of a fallen tree.)

Sue

Today mild, and a little windy. Small amounts of rain.

I haven't heard from them since before the bad weather Sue
But I have seen photos posted by my Granddaughter Alicia yesterday

So, I am not overly concerned for them [they are in good hands :prayer:]

Yes we had plenty of rain earlier [after dark]
but it seems to be 'taking a break' these past few hours

'Umbrella City' is not in the lowlands, :)
