Cloudy, about a 30% chance of rain, cool. 35F right now, going to 47F for a predicted high. Nothing showing on Radar that is likely to hit here, it's all blown East, even most of Michigan looks clear. Wisconsin is getting snow and ice North of Madison, so if I get a run to, say, St. Paul Minnesota I can expect to run into that.

Drizzle, cold, and raw in the mid 30s with light sleet earlier.
Heavier precip coming this afternoon and evening in the form of rain (1-1.5 in).
The weather man lied :p We have had snow, sleet, and a bit of icing all day

Spring returns tomorrow with sunny skies and warming temps

All winter has been very wet near Seattle. I have had a masterpiece 87 Volvo 240 for 6 years and this is the first year the windshield leaked.

There are several sites north of Seattle where bluffs that are collapsing due to wet weather.

Snowpacks are very healthy. I keep track of a set of 5 small lakes at 6000 ft in the NE of our nat'l park nps.gov/olym and in 08 they were just edged by a bit of snow. This past summer 2 were covered, one was 7/8 covered. One was completely rimmed by snow for the first time and 'katakariotic' blue (too cold for plant life) though in 08 it was 'eukariotic' amber. But the park measures snowpack 10 miles away at Hurricane Ridge which is on the official weather service list of Washington snowpack sites and is at 98% of historic.

Today NOAA reversed its official declaration about the US drought and said it was merely variation of the jetstream. It formerly blamed it on carbon emissions. Reported on KOMO Seattle and quoting a Dr. Ehrlich.

The sump-pump has been cycling all day. This is the first time today that I can say it's been quiet for more than an hour. It should quiet down, the water table is dropping and we're clear for a while at least. Low of 33F tonight, high tomorrow 47F. Slight chance of flurries. Right now, 37 under cloudy skies.

Note: The house is on fairly high ground, my landlord tells me the house has never flooded even when the power got knocked out and the sump pump went dead. The high-water mark he showed me is almost a foot below floor level.

Cool and rainy. Right now, 55F. Highs for today in the mid 60s.

It's a good thing I'm not in North Dakota right now. Half the state is shut down, the other half is travel not advised. They have snow, and open plains-- so they can't keep the roads open. I got the word on that from another forum I participate in as part of the business I'm in (expedited delivery). That forum caters to expedited truckers, so I get a heads-up when there's something I need to know as far as road closures, weather and so on.
