Special note: Up to now, Msmiss and I have posted similar weather because we live only a couple of miles from each other. For you out-of-towners, looking up the Western 'Burbs of Chicago will show you that there's not ten miles between the farthest points of Schaumburg and Carol Stream. Now I'm going to be introducing a variable because of a job-change. I'm going over the road if all goes well, which means my reports will come from different places. It should be interesting, if nothing else. I still live in Carol Stream, but--- as an example, this past Monday I could have given you the weather in Mt Sterling, Kentucky.

I reckon we're all waiting for the storm.

At 2:30 this afternoon I was in Paris, Illinois. Way downstate, about thirty miles East of "Amazing Arcola". The weather was sunny and 83 degrees, winds out of the South at thirty gusting to maybe 50 and better. Cast iron kite weather for sure. I burned up an enormous amount of fuel bucking headwinds to get down there, but the trip back up wasn't so bad.

Right now, Carol Stream: Winds have died down somewhat, cloudy, mid 70s.

It got 98F here today, and it's still 80F at 50 minutes after midnight. Our drought has been so bad that much of the state is under a fire advisory and burn ban. On top of everything else, we have wind gusts up to 30 mph. So, we are all praying for rain.
