CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Cold, wet and windy. Did I say windy? Seems like it doesn't let up for long, 20 to 30 mph winds have been pretty common the last several weeks.

I'm going to give some space today, face it, the distance between Carol Stream and Schaumburg isn't great (like, about five miles or so) so our weather is the same. Even in my daily travels as a delivery driver, we're not talking great distance (Crystal Lake, Woodstock and Harvard aren't all that far away) so the weather that I get Missmsdancerama will get in at most, maybe twenty minutes.

Thank you mjmcmillan. It is 47F and sunny right now. Not too windy. Only going up to about 55 today. Don't know how many times I can report the weather because I will be spending my Mother's Day at the hospital where my mother was admitted last night. She's not doing too good. Please pray for her.

It's a hard time for a lot of us in this age group. Missmsdancerama has to deal with her mother in the hospital, and I have to deal with a brother in bad shape. Many here can relate because at this age, we either have been facing it or soon expect to.
I lost both parents some years ago, mom died in 2001 and dad passed in 2007, so I can answer that this is a hard time when a parent is in the hospital. I have two younger brothers and a sister, it's the brother just behind me in birth order that's in difficulty now. He has opened his eyes more today than he did yesterday, that gives some slight encouragement. Still a long road ahead any way you look at it, though.

I am so sorry to hear that
Jim's Mom is not well either and we could not visit her.
She will be transferred to the alzheimers unit in 10 days.
I know, you know of this pain personally, and you are in my thoughts and prayers

Still praying for your mother, missm. Glad to see on the other thread you reported her breathing was better.
Yesterday our weather was cloudy and cool, high of about 64ºF. I loved it! Such a break from the heat we've already had. (As you may already know I tend to be a cold weather fan!) Today, however, is supposed to get back up to the usual. Ugh!
