Lovely early dew this morning actually wore long sleeves when walking the dogs at 6.30am. Met a kangaroo just outside the front gate.
I have a bath filled with water in my little paddock so any wildlife can have water and some birdbaths in the garden (garden being very generous calling it that)
Expecting 36C today so fans and air cons at the ready...
Reading the other posts show just how much we are at the mercy of the weather and it seems to be extreme a lot of the times.
Flooding is a dreadful thing, the debris left behind and the clean up is awful.
And the dangers of snowstorms with bad visibility and treacherous conditions...
Then here with the being on alert in case of fires in Summer and my paranoia about snakes..
Just think, we won't have any of this in heaven.:twohearts:
Stay safe everyone.

It was -5 F (-21C) on Jan 24 in the western Mohawk Valley of New York State. This is the coldest temperature so far this winter and only the second subzero (fahrenheit) temperature this winter season. The weather patterns have changed. Prior to this we had nearly consistent overcast skies and warmer then average temperatures with especially elevated low temperatures. The weather is now mainly clear and sunny with below average temperatures. This pattern is expected to continue. We have about 3 inches of snow cover.

YIKES! I'm afraid of anything that can hurt me: bears, wolves, and snakes, to name a few. I haven't seen any around here except non-poisonous snakes. I've seen birds, toads, tree frogs, rabbits, deer, a 'possum, and a wild turkey in my yard. I love birds!

A kangaroo sounds so exotic to my English ears! Are they friendly? I would love to see one and would definitely not want to see a snake! I hope you get rain soon Heavenhome, and I agree about it being wonderful in Heaven without these problems.

Just a grass fire that brigade got under control quickly. They are so good.
Missed your earlier post, as I've not been on CF for a few days, but I'm glad that you are okay.

Locally heavy snow squalls tonight into Friday morning. locally heavy snow squalls are expected to begin tonight and continue through the overnight into Friday morning. Snow squalls are expected to taper off Friday near noon. Local snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm in 12 hours are possible. ### Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

It's 23* .. Though the flakes were tiny the air was so full of them that it could be mistaken for a thick fog. We got another inch today to the already previous 2 on the ground. On the main roads one lane has harmless slush but the other lane had dancing snow making designs in between the cars. The accumulated snow is more noticeable on less traveled streets. And especially our sidewalk. Not enough to clear it with our snowblower. And a bit too much for me not having any boots so my tennis shoes had to suffice.
