We had about an inch which did not cover all surfaces and quickly melted. The temperature range was 41/33. The latest snowfall here was May 16 about 4 inches I believe in 1976. In the 70''s there were a few years with snowfalls in May and a couple of years in which the snow never melted until May. In the 70's during the winter there were extended periods in the Northeast and Midwest when the temperatures never rose above freezing. Buffalo and western New York had several feet of lake effect snow and there were articles about a coming ice age.

I can remember back in the late 50's in N. Minnesota; when we had a family clan (large) gathering on the 4th of July; that our picnic was snowed out; not much snow but it got so cold; the women folk (not us kids):) all wanted to go indoors.

And ya; I can remember the adults talking about another ice age was coming! lol.:rolleyes: How times have changed. :D

We have had sunny Spring weather all week, washing drying on the clothes line and tea on the lawn. :dango::hibiscus::cherryblossom: so pretty.
Now it is raining, not too much, just a sprinkling.
A lovely Easter Sunday, and with so much online, plenty to thank God for.

Much the same here really, except for a thunder storm later. Did it reach you mp? :) It was probably not long after you posted if it was moving northwards - I think we had it about 5.15. After that it poured, but it was the first heavy rain for about a week or so.

Early spring conditions in Upstate New York along the Mohawk River. Conditions somewat delayed. Coltsfoot in bloom, skunk cabbage evident, lawns have become green, dandelions beginning to flower near houses, honeysuckle beginning to leaf, silver maple beginning to flower, some budding on bushes and trees.

It's 73f degrees here in the Oregon Cascade's in the PNW---all the flowers are in glorious full bloom. If it wasn't for social distancing; we would be having the local "Spring Wildflower Festival" but people are still traveling around in cars and walking in the countryside.
I don't have a camera good enough to capture our back field but it is aglow with yellow wildflower called "Spring Gold" but here is pic from last year; it looks just like this:

We've had a sunny week, although yesterday evening the wind was cold, and the temps have dropped a bit. I think it is about 7C this evening, but daytimes have been up to upper teens C.

It's 3:30am in the PNW and 50F; that's warmer then it was in the day time 2 weeks ago.

I have my window open; and the night air smells magical; full of;

new mown grass, Fir trees, wild flowers, cherry trees, apple trees; and who knows what else; all in bloom and giving off this heavenly fragrance.

I love this time of the year in the Cascades foot hills!:)

Very windy day

Strong northwest winds and flurries for a blustery evening. Northwest winds with frequent gusts of 70 km/h will continue into this evening, ushering in an unseasonably cold air mass from the Arctic. A few higher gusts up to 80 km/h are possible as well. These winds are strong enough to cause Isolated power outages. Winds will slowly diminish later this evening.

Very sunny and even the cold wind is easing.
Spent an hour in the garden tidying up.

Fine here today, and quite warm round midday too. But again, that faint chill in the air first thing that heralds the 'drawing closer' onset of winter. Too soon! :D
