After a long, long, time (seems like forever) It's finally cooling down here in the PNW and the forest fires are dying down; and we are to get some rain this week!

We have had lots of rain, it is beautiful to see, Leaves on the trees changing colour, apples ready for picking.

In the western Mohawk Valley of Upstate New York leaves are at partial color, but still mainly green, with minor leaf drop. Temperatures in the 50's and 60's during the day and 30's and 40's at night, a mixture of sunshine and clouds and periodic rains.

We went over the mountains Saturday, and came back another way. We drove through an area known as Hope Valley. The aspens were changing colors. In green to yellow stage.

Leaf color change in the western Mohawk Valley area is at partial color with noticeable leaf drop after a severe thunderstorm yesterday with high winds followed by continued winds associated with a cold front.

80 F (27C) at Griffiss Station in Upstate New York yesterday (October 10). Leaf Color in the Adirondack Mountains from Otter Lake, Old Forge to Inlet was slightly past to past peak with a fair degree of leaf drop. Resort towns were nonetheless crowded brought out by the unseasonably mild weather.

In Upstate New York leaf color change in the western Mohawk Valley is near peak with some leaf drop. Leaf color change from Richfield Springs to Fly Creek is slightly past peak with moderate leaf drop.

79 F (26C) at Griffiss in Upstate New York on October 15, which is considerably above average. I put on the air conditioner for a short time. There has been an extended period of light rain with temperatures falling to the low 50's by 2AM Oct 16.

we are getting much the same weather; supposed to be partly cloudy today and around 70F.

I like this time of year; not too hot; not too cold; just right.

For a different take on the weather; I sometimes go to Underground Weather,com.

This morning a small section of it has an interesting story; besides the air quality; which is good to moderate.

It also has a video story about a man taking in 300 animals during Hurricane Delta. I hope he had lots of cat litter available!
