Well, the snow fell (about an inch or two everywhere)

The roads were salted / gritted in preparation for it's arrival

Actually we could see it thawing before it ceased to fall
Maybe it will be gone, before, the ice-arrives

we're about the same as you, Dave, but no snow for us.....just some cold wind today.
it's supposed to warm up next week, which will be welcome.

Well, we didn't get the forecast 'freezing' here

But, any heavy rainfall in the next couple of days will simply run-off, the surface
The ground is waterlogged

today we are expecting beautiful weather.
a pair of house finches are outside my window, and the female appears to be gathering nesting materials.

I often leave a hair / fur bundle, from Dog combing
within the branches of bushes in the front garden
Many small birds 'help-themselves' to beak-fulls, returning repeatedly until they have had enough

Today is very cold outside, close to freezing .... Heating, is going-on
when I return from the store in a little while
We are presently having a 'break' from the rain
BUT.... it will be back !!

A few degrees above freezing here. We've had some rain (but not as much as you get Dave!) but there have been more dry days recently. Also not too much wind thankfully.
