Here it has been colder, with some frost, but less windy so it has been quite comfortable. Rain at times.

LOL you should have seen the M6 yesterday before and after 4pm Sheesh
My return from Bristol, was a nightmare (@360 miles roundtrip) after 5-6 hours in Bristol

You did it in a day!? I didn't realise the bad weather was that far south. I hate the M6 at the best of times, especially in Cheshire and around Birmingham. Glad you got back safely bro' and hope your sister is okay.

Yes it 'hit' real bad just south of Birmingham and continued right up until the M602
Not a nice experience after leaving Bristol as it gets dark quickly after 3.30pm

Weather here 8:00 am is cloudy and dark. Oooow I hate it. Feels ddepressing
Ground still wet from drizzley rain past few days though sun peeped thru enough to keep the blues away. I'm feeling a little more chipper.now..halfway thru second cup of coffee! Should be warm today but Saturday expecting temp to drop to 38°f
Then back to warm next few days. That's how it goes here. Hard physically cause the body is constantly readjusting but that's OK beats the long sunless freezing Boston weather for month's on end! Here in North Central Florida USA

Thanks Dave. It rained! I can't remember if it was Mon or Tues or both! LOL! It has been very mild though, but the clouds were moving away about 11pm and the stars came out. However it's cloudy again now. It's forecast as sunny tomorrow (in your area too), which I'm pleased about as I want to get the last bits of shopping.

Apparently, Janet in her 'angst' (re: her alcoholism) attempted to go '100% cold-turkey'
and her body kicked-back with some sort of 'shock'
which necessitated urgent medical intervention, to save her 'failing organs'
She needs, CONTROLLED WITHDRAWAL (aka: 'weaning')
As with most illnesses.... it can take as long to recover, as it did to become ill
and with Janet, this is years, of TOO MUCH

We lost our younger brother 'Paul', about three years ago to 'heart-attack'
following, years of alcohol abuse

Oh Dave, I'm so sorry about Paul, and I hope Janet gets the help she needs to recover completely.

It's turned a bit colder here, but still above freezing. Wed was sunny but today has been mixed.

it has been down to 0.C a couple of weeks ago

It looks like we have missed-out on a White Christmas, but hey ho
when I think of the stress, that, can cause so-many
maybe going-without is not, such a bad thing

and yet it remains a LEGAL POISON... the mind boggles, it truly does

It killed my best-friend (Redvers) and he was only 34 years
and that saved-me, from a similar end \o/
I am so-grateful, that I was able to read and understand, the portent it held for me

I agree that a white Christmas, whilst being nice, can bring disruption. Here it has turned very mild but wet, with a lot of rain forecast. Bad flooding in parts of England, especially Cumbria .

(Sorry to hear about your friend Dave, but glad you managed to steer clear of the same course.)

to be forwarded to an account of mine, so that I can forward them (still waiting)
So far, only people at the bottom of the hill are inconvenienced / have problems (locally)

So much rain on already wet ground means it has nowhere to go in a hurry except into the streets
(and people's homes and gardens)
