CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We had a high of 45F today and our low tonight will be 21F. The weatherman says we will have a cold front come in tomorrow and the start of 20s for highs and single digits for lows for a couple of days. That will be COLD.

Yup...We had snow this morning and it caused problems as we live on a hill. Tonight it has all gone and not as cold.

thanks thats interesting!The same jet stream that brings the cold to the mid-west and back east; has brought us here in the PNW; warm temps from the southern pacific ocean; we had a high of 59F today; it's like spring weather; but with some rain; which is fine.

I didn't have a winter coat until yesterday, bc, well, I like to give away anything someone else needs...
I gave away my coat last year and never replaced it.....I had tons of warm stuff to put on under a wind breaker to suffice
until recently, and then it just was too cold...
so someone donated to the homeless ministry a really nice gently used winter coat
its fur lined and got tons of pockets and a really nice fur lined hood and thick lining and other neat-o stuff
well, the minister looked at me decked out in my wind breaker, and well, lets just say, god provides!
So we shall not worry what we shall wear or what we shall eat....but I think it needs to be that you gain only if you give it all away?
who can answer this question?
Same thing with blankets....gave them away all summer to the ppl sleeping in the parks
So I needed a blanket and God provided me a hand made quilt full of stories....
Seems everyone here shares with everyone else....like the first century church
to whomever has need we give all
a real strong community of ppl who share everything is a real blessing

I enjoyed reading all the posts above, the Lord looks after us.
It has been mild today, after yesterday's snow which has disappeared,
so I went for a walk to the shops with my husband. Wet underfoot but good exercise....and we have some food for the weekend.

Temp. has been in the low 20's today, to be in the single digits tonight. There is a wind chill advisory for New Year's Eve night to Tues. afternoon, or may be to Wed. Lows will be in the single digits, and wind chills from -5 to -15. This is due to an arctic air mass moving through the area.
